We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead and orchestrate the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) transformation initiative across the organization. This role will be responsible for driving the strategic adoption of SRE practices, managing cross-functional programs, and ensuring successful delivery of reliability improvements at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Lead end-to-end program management for SRE transformation initiatives across multiple teams and business units
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program roadmaps, timelines, and success metrics
  • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies between Engineering, Operations, Product, and Infrastructure teams
  • Manage program budget, resource allocation, and vendor relationships
  • Facilitate program governance through steering committees and executive reviews
  • Track and report on program health, risks, issues, and milestones using data-driven insights

SRE Transformation Leadership

  • Drive the adoption of SRE principles, practices, and culture across engineering organizations
  • Partner with SRE leadership to define transformation strategy and implementation approach
  • Lead change management efforts to support organizational adoption of SRE methodologies
  • Establish and track key reliability metrics (SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, error budgets)
  • Champion automation, observability, and incident management best practices
  • Facilitate the transition from traditional operations to SRE operating models

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with engineering leaders, product managers, and business stakeholders
  • Communicate program vision, progress, and value proposition to executive leadership
  • Manage expectations and negotiate priorities across competing organizational needs
  • Facilitate workshops, working sessions, and training programs
  • Create executive-level presentations and business cases for SRE investments

Process & Standards

  • Establish program management frameworks, templates, and best practices for SRE initiatives
  • Define and implement standardized processes for reliability reviews and postmortems
  • Create documentation and playbooks for SRE program execution
  • Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives and lessons learned
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise PMO standards and methodologies

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 12+ years of technical program/project management experience
  • 5+ years managing large-scale infrastructure, platform, or SRE initiatives
  • Proven track record of leading organizational transformation programs
  • Experience managing programs with budgets exceeding $5M
  • Background in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering environments

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of SRE principles, practices, and tooling
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks
  • Understanding of observability, monitoring, and incident management tools
  • Experience with agile and iterative development methodologies

  • Achieve 80%+ adoption of SRE practices in target teams
  • Complete at least 3 major program milestones on schedule
  • Maintain program stakeholder satisfaction score of 4.0+/5.0
  • Demonstrate ROI through reduced incidents and operational efficiency gains

Work Environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar program management certification
  • Experience with SRE certification programs or formal SRE training
  • Previous experience in consulting or transformation roles
  • Background as a Site Reliability Engineer or DevOps Engineer
  • Familiarity with ITIL, ITSM, or other service management frameworks
  • Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar platforms
