ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Senior Manager/ DGM MEP Engineering is responsible for managing the maintenance,

repair, and performance of a facility’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.

He ensures compliance with safety regulations, supervises maintenance teams, and implements

strategies to improve building efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. By overseeing

system operations and preventive maintenance programs, he plays a critical role in optimizing

facility performance and ensuring a safe, reliable environment. Additionally, he is responsible

for overseeing all aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems within largescale

construction work or infrastructure projects. This includes ensuring the successful

planning, reviewing designs and execution at Site.

Key responsibilities

1. Design and Planning. Reviewing and approving MEP designs and specifications,

ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project requirements.

2. Collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to

seamlessly integrate MEP systems within the overall project design and execution plan.

3. Maintenance and Support. Overseeing the maintenance and repair of MEP systems,

providing technical support to facility management teams, and developing preventive

maintenance plans.

4. Quality Assurance and Compliance. Conducting regular inspections and audits to

ensure MEP installations meet quality and safety standards, and comply with all relevant codes

and regulations.

5. Budgeting and Cost Control. Developing and managing MEP project budgets,

tracking expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and mitigating cost overruns.

6. Team Leadership and Mentorship. Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of

MEP engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and knowledge

sharing.

7. Risk Management. Identifying and mitigating MEP-related project risks, developing

contingency plans, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

8. Stakeholder Communication. Communicating effectively with clients, project

management teams, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on MEP progress and

addressing any concerns.

9. Sustainability and Innovation. Optimizing MEP designs for energy efficiency

and sustainability, exploring and incorporating new technologies and sustainable practices.

10. Emergency Response. Leading the emergency response team for all facility and

services related issues, including fire safety and disaster recovery.

11. Documentation and Reporting. Maintaining accurate records of MEP systems,

equipment, and maintenance activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

12. Engineering Degree. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or

related field).

13. Experience. Minimum 10 years’ experience in MEP systems maintenance and

management, preferably in Hotels, Hospitals or Commercial Malls/ Buildings.

14. Leadership Skills. Proven ability to lead and manage teams, motivate staff and

resolve conflicts. Strong leadership and team management skills.

15. Technical Expertise. Strong knowledge of Electrical and HVAC engineering

principles, Safety regulations and industry standards.

Senior Manager/ AGM Civil Engineering leads the department for both Projects and

Maintenance of facilities. In Projects work towards setting strategy, overseeing project design

and execution, and managing budgets, managing resources and ensuring project compliance

with regulations. Maintenance work includes developing and implementing preventative

maintenance programs and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

Key responsibilities include supervising engineers and staff, providing technical guidance,

fostering innovation, and collaborating with stakeholders and regulatory bodies. The role

requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to ensure

projects and other civil works are delivered on time and within budget to high quality

standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership. Setting the department's vision, strategy, and key objectives.

2. Project Oversight. Leading and overseeing civil engineering projects from

inception to completion, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.

3. Preventive maintenance. Developing and implementing programs to improve

system reliability and prevent equipment/ facilities failures.

4. Troubleshooting and Repair. Addressing and resolving complex technical issues

related to civil infrastructure.

5. Team Management. Supervising, mentoring, and motivating a team of civil

engineers and technical staff, fostering their development and a culture of excellence.

6. Budget & Resource Management. Developing and managing department and

project budgets, allocating resources effectively for optimum utilisation, and controlling

costs.

7. Technical Guidance. Providing expert technical guidance, resolving design and

development issues, and reviewing engineering plans and designs. Being innovative to

resolve maintenance and modification works issues.

6. Stakeholder Communication. Liaising with regulators, stakeholders, and other

departments to align on project completion and regular repair and upkeep works.

7. Compliance & Quality. Ensuring that all civil works comply with relevant

codes, standards, safety regulations, and legal requirements.

8. Innovation & Improvement. Researching and implementing innovative technologies

and best practices to improve department efficiency and civil engineering works outcomes.

10. Record Keeping. Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities,

equipment performance, and compliance.

9. Reporting. Creating and delivering regular works progress reports to management

and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

10. Engineering Degree. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field is

essential requirement.

11. Experience. Extensive experience (often 8+ years) in civil engineering, particularly

in maintenance and operations. Experience in Healthcare, Hospitality and Institutional projects

and maintenance works will be an additional advantage.

12. Leadership Skills. Proven ability to lead and manage teams, motivate staff and

resolve conflicts.

13. Technical Expertise. Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction

methods, and building codes.
