Role summary

A Junior MS Project Professional plays a critical support role in the planning, execution,

monitoring, and successful completion of infrastructure projects, working under the guidance

of senior project managers. This role is an excellent entry point for individuals passionate

about project management in the construction and infrastructure industry.

Key responsibilities

 Project Planning and Scheduling:

o Assisting in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets using tools like

Microsoft Project.

o Defining and organizing tasks within a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

o Establishing task dependencies and setting durations for activities.

o Identifying project milestones and critical paths.

 Progress Monitoring and Reporting:

o Tracking project progress against the baseline schedule.

o Updating task statuses and identifying potential delays or variances.

o Generating reports like Gantt charts, resource usage reports, and progress

reports for stakeholders.

 Resource Management:

o Assisting in allocating and managing resources, including personnel,

equipment, and materials, using MS Project.

o Monitoring resource utilization and identifying potential conflicts or

overallocation.

 Risk Management Support:

o Identifying potential project risks and issues and escalating them to senior

management.

o Assisting in developing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize

the impact of risks.

 Communication and Collaboration:

o Facilitating team meetings and documenting discussions and action items.

o Communicating schedule updates and changes to team members and

stakeholders effectively.

o Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met.

 Documentation and Compliance:

o Creating and maintaining project documentation, including project charters,

scopes, and requirements.

o Ensuring projects adhere to standard operating procedures, policies, and

guidelines.

Qualifications

 A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Civil/ Electrical Engineering or Proeject

Management.

 2-5 years of experience in project scheduling or a related area, ideally within the

construction or infrastructure sector.

 Proficiency in Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is

essential, along with a basic understanding of project management principles and

methodologies.

 Familiarity with industry-specific processes in construction or infrastructure.

Essential skills

 Key technical skills include strong proficiency in Microsoft Project and Excel,

knowledge of project management software, and the ability to create scheduling

visualizations like Gantt charts.

 Familiarity with critical path analysis and earned value management will be added

advantage.
