Job Overview
The Sr Cost Control Engineer will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing project costs within our diverse real estate portfolio, with a specific focus on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) cost control & estimation. This full-time, mid-level position is based in Mumbai and focuses on MEP cost control and estimation functions, ensuring effective use of resources to achieve project objectives while maintaining rigorous quality, schedule, and safety standards.
Qualifications And Skills
- Proven expertise in MEP cost control & estimation with substantial hands-on experience in implementing robust cost management practices (Mandatory skill), especially in MEP systems.
- Strong proficiency in project scheduling related to MEP works, ensuring timely project milestones through meticulous timeline management and coordination with stakeholders.
- Comprehensive knowledge of earned value management systems for project performance tracking, variance analysis, and forecasting with emphasis on MEP disciplines.
- Demonstrated skills in budgeting, including preparation, monitoring, and controlling budgets for complex MEP construction projects.
- Solid experience in MEP construction estimation, capable of conducting quantitative analysis, and preparing detailed cost estimates within MEP trades.
- Advanced data analysis abilities to interpret, synthesize, and present MEP cost-related data to management for informed decision-making.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy in tracking MEP project expenditures, commitments, and forecasts to ensure budgetary compliance.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to facilitate transparent reporting and cross-functional collaboration regarding MEP scope.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of effective MEP cost control and estimation strategies for multiple real estate construction projects to optimize financial performance.
- Monitor and report on overall MEP project budgets, expenditures, cost trends, and forecasts, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project planning teams to integrate scheduling and cost control processes specifically for accurate progress measurement using earned value metrics in MEP activities.
- Prepare and validate detailed MEP cost estimates, value engineering proposals, and change order reviews to support project goals and minimize overruns in MEP domains.
- Maintain and update comprehensive cost databases, ensuring all MEP project costs are tracked, categorized, and reconciled regularly for transparency and compliance.
- Analyze MEP cost reports, identify potential risks or inefficiencies, and collaborate with project and finance teams to develop optimization solutions related to MEP works.
- Generate timely and effective MEP cost control documentation and management reports, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements, emphasizing MEP deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement of MEP cost control & estimation systems, tools, and work processes, leveraging industry best practices and technological advancements for MEP cost management.
