Sourcing Executive

Role Objective

The Sourcing Executive will be responsible for identifying, onboarding, negotiating with, and managing vendors across home & living categories—ensuring quality, timelines, cost control, and design alignment with Hello December’s brand standards.

This is not a transactional buying role. It is a design-sensitive, relationship-driven sourcing role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vendor Identification & Onboarding

• Source manufacturers, artisans, and suppliers across categories:

• Furniture (wood, metal, outdoor)

• Lighting

• Decor & accessories

• Soft furnishings

• Mirrors, planters, vases

• Evaluate vendors on:

• Quality standards

• Design capability

• Production capacity

• Pricing & margins

• Reliability & ethics

• Create and maintain a verified vendor database with clear category tagging.

2. Costing, Negotiation & Commercials

• Negotiate:

• Best possible pricing

• MOQs

• Lead times

• Payment terms

• Prepare cost sheets including landed cost, margins, logistics, and buffers.

• Work closely with finance & operations to ensure commercial viability.

3. B2B Project Sourcing Support

• Source products for:

• Interior styling projects

• Hospitality & real estate projects

• Coordinate with stylists, project managers, and QC teams.

• Ensure on-time delivery aligned with site timelines.

• Handle quick turnarounds and custom requirements.

4. Private Label & Product Development Support

• Work with the Product & Design team to:

• Source materials and finishes

• Identify vendors capable of custom development

• Support sampling and prototyping

• Track sample approvals and revisions.

5. Quality Control & Vendor Performance

• Coordinate pre-dispatch quality checks.

• Track vendor performance on:

• Quality

• Timeliness

• Responsiveness

• Flag issues early and drive resolution.

• Maintain long-term vendor relationships with clear accountability.

6. Logistics & Coordination

• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams.

• Track dispatches, deliveries, and damages.

• Ensure proper packaging standards for premium products.

Key Skills & Competencies

Must-Have

• 2–5 years experience in sourcing / procurement / vendor management (home décor, furniture, interiors, lifestyle preferred)

• Strong negotiation & cost analysis skills

• Understanding of materials, finishes, and production processes

• High attention to detail

• Strong follow-up and execution ability

Good-to-Have

• Experience working with artisans or small manufacturers

• Exposure to B2B interior or hospitality projects

• Familiarity with Indian craft clusters

• Basic Excel / Google Sheets proficiency
