Solar Sales Manager – Residential & Commercial

2. Department:

Sales / Business Development

5. Job Summary:

Responsible for leading and managing the solar sales team to achieve revenue and installation targets in both residential and commercial segments. This includes strategizing market penetration, building strong customer relationships, mentoring sales executives, and ensuring seamless execution of projects. The role demands a blend of leadership, market insight, and hands-on sales expertise to drive clean energy adoption.

6. Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Target Achievement

●      Develop and implement sales strategies for both B2C and B2B segments.

●      Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

●      Identify new market opportunities and expand dealer/channel partner networks.

Team Management & Development

●      Recruit, train, and mentor sales executives to improve productivity.

●      Set performance goals, monitor KPIs, and conduct regular team reviews.

●      Provide ongoing coaching for negotiation, closing skills, and objection handling.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

●      Support the team in high-value negotiations and deal closures.

●      Maintain relationships with key customers, channel partners, and stakeholders.

●      Oversee customer satisfaction, handle escalations, and ensure referrals.

Operational Coordination

●      Work closely with the technical, installation, and service teams for smooth project execution.

●      Monitor lead management and proposal submissions via CRM systems.

●      Organize and participate in promotional events, exhibitions, and awareness programs.


Market Intelligence

●      Keep track of competitor activities, pricing trends, and government policy changes.

●      Provide regular market feedback to management for strategic decision-making.


7. Required Qualifications & Skills:

●      Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)

●      4–7 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial role (preferably i

solar/renewable energy sector).

●      Strong leadership, negotiation, and presentation skills.

●      Good understanding of solar technology and rooftop/commercial installation processes

●      Proficient in MS Office, CRM tools, and data-driven decision-making.

●      Ability to travel extensively; two-wheeler or four-wheeler with valid driving license preferred.

8. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

●      Achievement of sales revenue and installation targets.

●      Lead-to-order conversion rate.

●      Team productivity and retention rate.

●      Customer satisfaction score and repeat/referral business.

●      Accuracy and timeliness of sales reporting in CRM.

9. Compensation:

CTC: ₹4,20,000 to ₹6,00,000 per annum (Based on experience and performance)
