Profile Background

The Technical Writer produces high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products and works collaboratively with IT Administrators and Engineers to make our products easier to use. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Create, update, and maintain engineering-focused technical documentation, including user manuals, technical guides, system designs, installation instructions, and maintenance procedures.
  • Develop complex product documentation that caters to engineering teams, field service technicians, and technical end-users.
  • Adapt documentation based on project updates, new features, and engineering changes.
  • Participate in engineering meetings and project briefings to understand product requirements, changes, and technical challenges.
  • Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) to capture detailed technical information and translate it into clear, structured documentation.
  • Provide technical diagrams, flowcharts, and detailed step-by-step guides as needed to support complex engineering concepts.
  • Ensure documentation is accessible and structured for easy reference, updates, and version tracking.
  • Leverage AI-assisted writing tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Grammarly or similar) to generate document drafts, summarize meeting notes, and enhance clarity or consistency across technical materials.
  • Continuously explore emerging AI documentation tools for translation, taxonomy management, and technical diagram generation

Who are we looking for?

  • 3-5 years of experience in technical writing within an engineering or technology-focused environment.
  • Proven experience documenting complex engineering products, systems, or infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, Adobe Acrobat creator, Sharepoint, or similar.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and technical diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart), SQL,
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes and experience working closely with engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of technical engineering concepts, such as hardware systems, infrastructure, and field service processes.
  • Excellent technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work independently and within a cross-functional engineering team.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered authoring and content management tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Notion AI, Azure OpenAI).
  • Understanding of ethical AI usage, data privacy, and content validation best practices.
  • Experience using AI to optimize workflows, such as version summaries, changelog generation, or knowledge base curation.
