Job Title: Senior QA Manager/Director – Center of Excellence (CoE)

Location: C&S GCC - Hyderabad 

Experience: 12–18 years 

Reports To: GCC Head 

 

Role Overview:

Senior QA Manager / Director

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Define and lead the QA vision, roadmap, and operating model aligned with enterprise objectives
  • Build and scale the QA CoE to support multiple product lines, digital platforms, and business domains
  • Champion quality as a shared responsibility across engineering, product, and operations
  • Position and lead the CoE as both an internal and external services provider.

Enterprise Test Governance:

  • Establish standardized processes, KPIs, and quality benchmarks across functional, automation, performance, and security testing
  • Drive metrics-based quality reporting to leadership with actionable insights and continuous improvement plans

Automation & Innovation:

  • Lead enterprise test automation initiatives—framework design, technology selection, CI/CD integration, and reuse
  • Enable adoption of cutting-edge testing techniques (AI/ML testing, autonomous testing, shift-left QA, chaos engineering)

Cross-Functional & Domain Enablement:

  • Provide QA oversight and strategic guidance for mission-critical domains like Retail, Ecommerce, POS, and PaymentsPoint of Sale, Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Enterprise Systems.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (PCI-DSS, ISO 8583/20022) across financial and transactional system

Talent Management & Team Leadership:

  • Build, mentor, and retain high-performing QA teams across manual, automation, and specialized testing functions
  • Establish career frameworks, competency models, and CoE-driven learning programs

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with global product and engineering leaders to drive early QA engagement and efficient delivery
  • Lead QA steering committees, customer reviews, and executive presentations

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 12–18 years of overall QA experience, with 5+ years in managerial/director-level roles leading large, distributed teams
  • Strong experience building QA CoEs or test practices at scale
  • Hands-on expertise in automation frameworks (Selenium, TestNG, Appium), scripting (Java/Python/JavaScript), and CI/CD (Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience in a retail environment with both retail applications (POS, payments, ecommerce, ordering, inventory) and corporate  or retail domains (Supply Chain, Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, HR, etc.); with exposure to compliance and certification cycles
  • Familiarity with test management (Azure DevOps, JIRA, TestRail), version control (Git), and observability tools (Grafana, ELK, etc.)
  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity, in a dynamic and fast paced retail environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in GCCs, global product companies, or digital transformation programs
