Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Manager who combines deep quality assurance expertise with strong leadership skills to oversee quality processes across our healthcare claims processing platform. This role requires comprehensive understanding of testing methodologies, regulatory compliance requirements, and the ability to build and scale high-performing QA teams in a mission-critical healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Leadership & Strategy:
- Define and implement comprehensive quality assurance strategy for healthcare claims processing systems handling millions of transactions
- Establish quality standards, testing frameworks, and best practices across multiple product areas
- Lead quality planning for complex healthcare workflows including claims adjudication, provider networks, and member management systems
- Drive test automation strategy and oversee implementation of automated testing frameworks
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, SOX) through rigorous testing protocols
Team Management & Development:
- Build, lead, and mentor a team of 6-10 QA engineers, test automation specialists, and compliance testers
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning for QA team members
- Foster a culture of quality excellence, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance
- Recruit top QA talent with healthcare domain expertise and build diverse, inclusive teams
- Manage team capacity, sprint planning, and testing commitments across multiple development streams
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Data, and Operations teams on quality planning and delivery
- Collaborate with Engineering Managers to integrate quality processes into development lifecycle
- Work with Technical Architects to understand system design and identify quality risk areas
- Translate business requirements into comprehensive test strategies and acceptance criteria
- Communicate quality metrics, risk assessments, and testing outcomes to stakeholders
Quality Process & Compliance:
- Design and implement testing processes for distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures
- Establish quality gates and release criteria for production deployments
- Lead validation testing for healthcare data standards (EDI, HL7, FHIR) and interoperability requirements
- Implement comprehensive regression testing strategies for high-volume transaction processing systems
- Drive quality metrics collection, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
Technical Quality Oversight:
- Oversee testing of real-time processing systems and performance validation
- Ensure comprehensive testing coverage for system integrations with external healthcare partners
- Lead quality efforts for large-scale system migrations and platform modernizations
- Establish and monitor service level agreements for system reliability and performance
- Drive security testing practices and vulnerability assessment processes
Required Qualifications
Experience:
8+ years of quality assurance experience with 4+ years in QA management or leadership rolesHealthcare Domain:
Experience with healthcare systems, claims processing, or other regulated industriesTechnical Expertise:
Strong understanding of distributed systems testing, API testing, and database validationCompliance Knowledge:
Deep knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR) and quality validationTeam Leadership:
Proven track record of scaling QA teams and managing technical quality talentAutomation:
Experience with test automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and quality toolingMethodologies:
Strong experience with agile testing methodologies and continuous integration practicesEducation:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field

Experience testing healthcare data standards (X12 EDI, HL7, FHIR) and interoperability systemsClaims Processing:
