Senior Manager/Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Quality – Cell Plant

Company Overview:

Shirdi Sai Electricals Limited (SSEL) is a leading Indian Conglomerate (Manufacturing B2B) in Transformer manufacturing, headquartered in Hyderabad. Having qualified in PLI incentive scheme (L1) through Government of India and keenly materializing to set-up Integrated PV manufacturing for the entire value chain (Polysilicon to Module), they have come up with a special project vehicle, named, INDOSOL Solar Pvt. Ltd. for the renewable manufacturing space.

Job Purpose:

Senior Manager/Assistant General Manager – Cell Quality Head:

This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring that quality standards and processes are implemented and maintained throughout the Cell Manufacturing. The Quality Head plays a critical role in driving continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and enhancing customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality solar products and services. He/ she will work closely with the other department functions to define all the necessary process, equipment configuration and control procedures to meet product functionality, quality and reliability requirements. He/ she will be self-motivated and with good ethics and dedication to be a part of engineering team working on strategic ambition to be the world leading Integrated PV Manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management System (QMS) Implementation:

·      Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System across the solar supply chain, covering procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution processes.

·      Ensure adherence to relevant quality standards, certifications, and industry best practices.

Supplier Quality Management:

·      Establish and maintain a robust supplier quality evaluation and monitoring program.

·      Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality requirements and performance standards.

·      Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality-related issues and drive continuous improvement.

Incoming Quality Management:

·      Implement processes for incoming quality inspection of raw materials, components, and equipment used in Solar Cell manufacturing.

·      Identify and address potential quality issues with suppliers to prevent non-conformities in the supply chain.

Process Improvement and Lean Initiatives:

·      Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize supply chain processes and enhance overall efficiency.

·      Implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve productivity and achieve quality goals.

Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:

·      Ensure compliance with relevant quality regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements in the solar industry.

·      Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet legal and regulatory obligations.

Quality Metrics and Reporting:

·      Establish key quality performance indicators (KPIs) and track performance metrics regularly.

·      Provide timely reports and analysis to management, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

Training and Development:

·      Provide training and development opportunities for Solar Supply Chain Management personnel and suppliers to enhance quality awareness and skills.

·      Foster a culture of quality consciousness and continuous learning.

Customer Satisfaction:

·      Collaborate with customer service teams to address quality-related customer feedback and complaints.

·      Work towards improving customer satisfaction by delivering reliable and high-quality solar products.

Desired Work Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor's/Master’s degree or above in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Material/ Chemical / Solid State Engineering with a Minimum 18+ years Industry experience leading Quality Engineering function in Tier 1 Solar Cell manufacturing companies or Electronic or Semiconductor Assembly industries. Ideally, the candidate having experience in PERC/TOPCon/HJT cell technologies is highly desirable.

Technical Expertise:

·      Ensure adherence to QA certification budgets.

·      Participate in forums on quality improvement /certifications initiatives resulting in a reduction of quality rejections and upgradation of output quality Process.

·      Develop and implement metrics to monitor and track global quality compliance requirements (including certification requirements such as TUV Rheiland, UL, UL CEC etc) and communicate these standards to all Technical operations team members.

·      Prepare guidelines, policies and procedures to standardize quality standards, from materials receipt to Cell dispatch, to ensure compliance with customer specifications quality assurance requirements.

·      Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan to bring the company's quality systems and policies into compliance with quality system requirements.

·      Manage and maintain the Company's internal quality audit program and assess improvement initiatives resulting from all Quality Audits-internal and external.

·      Play the role of Management Representative in initial certifications and design frameworks for subsequent quality certifications; identify Management Representatives for driving subsequent certifications.

·      Ensure the preparation (of new), improvement (of old), and development implementation of Quality Manuals in the corporation

·      Drive vendor/supplier development by continuously providing them feedback and sharing information on best practices related to quality.

·      Make proposals for automation of testing processes (data collection and recording) to improve efficiency and productivity.

·      Ensure timely goal setting, monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members.

·      Root cause /FMEA / SPC / 7 QC tools analysis of process/Production/Quality Issues associated with Cell Production line.

·      Handling and Calibration of Cell Sorter and other measurement tools of Four Probe, EL, and Life time scanner, Core scan tester.

·      Preparation of Process MIS and Analysis on CTQ Parameters and Cell performance.

·      Ensure capability development of self and team members by actively participating and leveraging training growth opportunities available including knowledge management initiatives Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work.
