Job Purpose: The Assistant Manager - Solar Cell Process oversees the daily operations and optimization of solar cell manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves managing a team of engineers and technicians, supporting process development, and troubleshooting production challenges. The position acts as a bridge between shop-floor operations and senior management, contributing to strategic goals and maintaining production excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Process Management: § Oversee and manage solar cell process areas, such as Texturing, Diffusion, BSG-Polishing, PE-Poly, PECVD, Metallization etc. § Ensure smooth production operations and timely resolution of process bottlenecks. § Monitor process performance indicators (e.g., yield, efficiency, and throughput) and implement corrective actions as needed. 2. Team Leadership: § Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians to achieve departmental goals. § Conduct training sessions to improve technical skills and process knowledge among team members. § Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 3. Process Improvement: § Identify opportunities for process optimization to enhance productivity and reduce manufacturing costs. § Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement long-term solutions. § Work with R&D and engineering teams to introduce new technologies or processes. 4. Quality Assurance: § Ensure all processes comply with quality standards and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001). § Collaborate with the quality team to analyse defects and minimize scrap or rework. § Perform regular audits to ensure adherence to SOPs and best practices. 5. Equipment Management: § Oversee the installation, maintenance, and calibration of production equipment. § Ensure maximum equipment uptime and efficiency through preventive maintenance. 6. Reporting and Communication: § Prepare and present regular reports on process performance, yield, and efficiency. § Communicate operational updates and challenges to senior management. § Represent the process team in cross-functional meetings and project discussions. 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: § Work closely with R&D, production, and engineering teams to implement new technologies and processes. § Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians. 8. Continuous Improvement: § Lead initiatives for process innovation and efficiency enhancements. § Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and technologies in solar cell production. Technological Requirements: § Deep understanding of solar cell processes and equipment. § Experience with statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement tools like Six Sigma or Lean. § Hands-on knowledge of process simulation, DOE, and data analysis tools. § Proficiency in solar cell process optimization. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related field with minimum 4 - 6 years of relevant experience in Solar PV manufacturing . Job Purpose: Senior Manager/Assistant General Manager – Cell Maintenance will lead and oversee the maintenance function of the Cell manufacturing unit in the integrated PV manufacturing facility. The role includes strategic planning and execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment uptime, reliability, and lifecycle efficiency. Key Responsibilities: The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in handling end-to-end maintenance operations in high-precision manufacturing environments such as monocrystalline silicon cell manufacturing. • To lead all Maintenance activities for Cell manufacturing unit at INDOSOL with a focus on cost reduction and optimization utilization of Machines. • Leading a large size team of technical resources including engineers for smooth functioning of maintenance activities in all shifts for 365 days of operation. • Implement condition-based monitoring systems and drive RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions). • Experience in handling manpower, shop floor management, Kaizen, Kanban, DMAIC methodologies, lean manufacturing, optimized raw materials usage with cost efficient methodologies, Spare management, structured way of productivity improvement through training will be part of your KPI/KRA. • Enhancing life cycle of equipment by analysis of critical spare parts and replacing/refurbishing high-cost spare parts, indigenization of spares locally, drafting equipment obsolesce study and proposing up-gradation & replenishment plans within suitable budget to the management. • Ensure safety compliance (OSHA), ISO/IEC standards, and statutory requirements for critical equipment. • Drive cost optimization and energy efficiency initiatives across maintenance functions. Job Summary: This leadership position is crucial to the reliability and performance of high-value equipment in the Cell manufacturing section of the plant. The Senior Manager/AGM will ensure uninterrupted production support and contribute significantly to plant OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), safety, and quality goals. Performance Objectives: • Drive > 95% equipment uptime for all critical cell manufacturing tools. • Reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and improve MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) year-over-year. • Ensure zero major safety incidents or compliance violations. • Lead and mentor a high-performance team; support their training and technical development. • Maintain optimum critical spares inventory with maximum 2% emergency purchase frequency. • Support TPM, Lean, and Kaizen initiatives to improve plant-wide maintenance maturity. Desired Requirements: • Experience: o Senior Manager / Assistant General Manager (AGM): 15-20 years in core maintenance functions in high-tech manufacturing industries (Solar PV, Semiconductors or similar industry). • Education: o B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. o Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline or MBA (optional but preferred for managerial roles). • Technical Expertise: o In-depth knowledge of Silicon solar cell manufacturing equipment. o Hands-on experience with maintenance of highly specialized equipment such as wet chemical tools, vacuum deposition systems (PECVD & LPCVD), thermal systems (Diffusion, Annealing & Sintering furnaces), laser systems (ALD, Ablation & Scribing), Screen printing and automated production lines. o Strong grasp of PLC/SCADA, servo systems, and automation controls. o Soft Skills: Leadership, problem-solving mindset, cross-functional collaboration, ability to manage large technical teams and vendors. o Tools & Systems: Familiar with SAP-PM.
