Mercer Business unit of Marsh McLennan is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Gurugram office.

Senior Manager – Data Testing (Mercer Tech Quality Engineering)

You must be a team player who can work across many teams to establish shift left quality and test automation approach.


Job summary:

We are seeking an experienced ETL Automation Tester to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the ETL process and hands-on experience with various databases and automation tools. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of our ETL processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute automated test scripts for ETL processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers to understand ETL workflows and identify testing requirements.t
  • Utilize AWS Athena, MongoDB, and Oracle DB for data validation and testing.
  • Write and maintain test cases using Python (pytest framework) or JavaScript.
  • Implement testing processes and methodologies to enhance the quality of ETL solutions.
  • Create and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate testing and deployment processes.
  • Analyze test results, document defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testing strategies and best practices.
  • Implements and oversees the test automation approach (working with all squads within the POD) to deliver the Test Automation Strategy including CICD, nonfunctional testing - performance, security engineering, compatibility, accessibility testing
  • Testing AI/Gen AI business applications. Demonstrate usage of Gen AI in tooling & AI driven insights reporting. Creating/Reusing AI utilities/components for Testing.
  • Demonstrate usage of Gen AI for Testing optimization, comparisons, code refactoring, migrations
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to ETL and automation testing.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in ETL testing and automation.

  • Strong understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS Athena, MongoDB, and Oracle DB.
  • Proficiency in Python (Pytest framework) or JavaScript for test automation.
  • Familiarity with testing processes and methodologies.
  • Experience in Testing and automated testing of APIs
  • Experience in creating and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience of using Gen AI for Testing design, reporting
  • Experienced in using GenAI for writing and improving code for Test automation
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with other ETL tools and frameworks.
    • Knowledge of data modeling and database design principles.
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.


    Things you will do:

    • 14+ years of experience in testing and managing end to end project delivery

    • Demonstrable experience of working on successful test programs on enterprise scale applications or projects
    • Drive data testing expertise within teams
    • Propose strategies to drive adoption of new tools and technology to improve testing efficiency.
    • Manage testing software projects from detailed requirement analysis, developing test strategy, planning, test design, documentation & effective reporting.
    • Provide quality metrics to the leadership team and in-depth analysis of each release displaying trends and patterns.
    • Reviewing the requirements of different Test Phases required ensuring Quality deliverables.
    • Excellent management & client handling/communication skills with a strong focus on quality of deliverables, team building, resource planning, performance evaluation
    • Drive best practices and provide guidance to stakeholders on Testing Practices.
    • Manage personnel effectively, facilitating KPI and OKR discussions, mentoring, and conflict resolution.
    • Implement and co-create a test approach to deliver the test strategy including functional and nonfunctional testing
    • Drive improvements and innovation around tooling, and approaches working on shift left principles and the testing pyramid
    • Work with stakeholders to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to quality and ensures cross communication and collaboration on QA best practices, risks and open issues
    • Ensure consistency across all teams in line with program strategy, maturity, priorities and global approach - undertaking quality reviews and deep dives
    • Contribute to planning, and subsequent resourcing planning - including skills profiling and identifying training requirements for team members
    • Provide timely reports with qualitative and quantitative analysis of test coverage, defect trends, and leakage, enabling key stakeholders (including squad leaders) for timely course correction
