Job Description

Role Summary:

Climate Risk Assessment and Scenario Analysis

TCFD

Key Responsibilities:

Client Advisory & Engagement Delivery

  • Lead climate risk assessments and scenario analysis projects for clients across industries (e.g., financial services, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure).
  • Apply recognized climate scenarios (IPCC SSP/RCP, NGFS, IEA) to model risk exposure and financial implications.
  • Translate climate data into decision-useful insights for risk management, strategy, and capital planning.

Technical Modeling & Analysis

  • Develop and validate models to assess physical risks (e.g., flood, heat stress, drought) and transition risks (e.g., carbon pricing, policy shifts, market dynamics).
  • Use geospatial tools (ArcGIS/QGIS), climate data APIs, and financial modeling platforms (Excel, Python, R) to deliver robust analytics.
  • Support development of internal carbon pricing, marginal abatement cost curves, and net-zero transition pathways.

Framework Alignment & Disclosure Support

  • Advise clients on climate-related disclosures aligned with TCFD, ISSB/IFRS S2, CDP, SEBI BRSR, and other relevant standards.
  • Prepare audit-ready documentation and support assurance processes.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and emerging best practices in climate risk reporting.

 

 

Thought Leadership & Practice Development

  • Contribute to the development of methodologies, tools, and knowledge assets within the climate risk practice.
  • Represent the firm in external forums, webinars, and industry working groups.
  • Mentor junior consultants and support capability building across the team.

Required:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Climate Policy, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in climate risk assessment, sustainability consulting, or financial risk modeling.
  • Strong understanding of climate science, scenario frameworks, and financial translation of climate risks.
  • Proficiency in modeling tools (Python, R, Excel), geospatial platforms (ArcGIS/QGIS), and BI tools (Power BI/Tableau).

Preferred:

  • Experience working with or advising large corporates, financial institutions, or government agencies.
  • Familiarity with carbon markets, net-zero strategy development, and internal carbon pricing.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., GARP SCR, FRM, CDP accredited).
