What You’ll Do
The Senior Instructional Designer is a mid-level individual contributor responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative and impactful learning solutions for a global workforce. This role applies advanced instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and emerging technologies to create scalable, high-quality training programs that support organizational goals. The Senior Instructional Designer partners with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to analyze learning needs, develop instructional strategies, and deliver engaging, learner-centered content. The role also provides guidance and mentorship to other instructional designers and contributes to establishing best practices and standards for learning design at Duck Creek Technologies.
- Lead the design and development of instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, blended learning programs, videos, simulations, assessments, and multimedia elements.
- Apply advanced instructional design theories, adult learning principles, and industry best practices to develop effective learning experiences.
- Partner with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs, gather and validate content, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Establish instructional design standards, guidelines, and templates to ensure consistency and quality across learning deliverables.
- Manage end-to-end instructional design projects, including planning, execution, and delivery within scope, budget, and timelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Professional Services, Customer Success, Engineering, and HR to ensure training materials support organizational strategies.
- Integrate AI tools and technologies to enhance instructional design efficiency, personalization, and learner engagement.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of instructional content to ensure accuracy, instructional integrity, and compliance with standards.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs using metrics and feedback; recommend and implement continuous improvements.
- Research and apply emerging learning technologies, trends, and methodologies to maintain a leading-edge L&D capability.
- Maintain content within learning management systems and other platforms, ensuring accessibility and global usability.
- Provide informal mentorship to team members, sharing best practices and fostering a collaborative learning design culture.
- Perform all other duties and activities as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education And Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in instructional design, with proven success in designing and delivering learning solutions across multiple modalities.
- Demonstrated proficiency with instructional design software such as Articulate 360, Camtasia, and Vyond.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools and technologies for learning design and development.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Experience working in Professional Services, Customer Success, or Engineering within a SaaS or technology environment.
- Experience supporting global, remote learning delivery in a high-growth technology company.
- Certifications in instructional design, e-learning development, or related areas.

- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

- Strong organizational skills with a disciplined approach to documentation and content management
