This role requires a seasoned professional who can lead hardware design from concept to production, ensuring robust, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
Product Design & Development:
- Lead the complete hardware design life cycle, including schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and prototype creation for new products.
- Design and develop microcontroller-based systems (e.g., using PIC, AVR, ARM Cortex-M, or similar) for various industrial and consumer applications.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations (e.g., CE, RoHS), and company quality requirements.
- Collaborate closely with firmware, software, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
Testing & Validation:
- Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for hardware validation.
- Perform rigorous testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of electronic circuits and systems using standard lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).
- Conduct feasibility studies, stress testing, and performance analysis to ensure product reliability and durability.
Documentation & Maintenance:
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, schematics, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and test reports.
- Provide technical support and perform root-cause analysis for hardware-related issues in existing products.
- Continuously seek opportunities to optimize existing designs for cost, manufacturability, and performance.
Project Management & Collaboration:
- Manage project timelines and deliverables for hardware-related tasks.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Communicate project status, technical challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.
