Overall Purpose of The Job

• Support Group and V.Ships FP&A activity by providing accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights to drive strategic decision-making across the organisation.
• Collaborate with the V.Ships finance team and central finance teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and performance reports that align with corporate objectives.
• Enhance the development of business intelligence and data utilisation across V.Group.
• Support the Group Treasury team with Front Office or Back Office cover as required.
  

Key Responsibilities And Tasks

• Produce regular and ad-hoc reports, including KPIs, dashboards, and variance analyses, to support business performance monitoring, including monthly flash and board reporting.
• Deliver accurate and timely Office Scorecard reporting to Managing Directors, working independently with V.Ships Finance Business Partners to iteratively improve and automate these reports.
• Prepare and consolidate annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans for multiple business units.
• Proactively support and challenge V.Ships Finance Business Partners by analysing financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and key drivers.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario analysis, strategic initiatives, and investment decisions.
• Consolidate, sense-check and challenge rolling forecast submissions, ensuring that there is alignment between commercial reality and financials.
• Lead on defining and embedding FP&A processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• (Treasury cover) Tasks including submitting treasury payments, trade confirmations, loan drawdown notices and associated reporting.
  

What can I expect in return?

Essential

• Qualified accountant or interest in working towards professional accounting qualification (or relevant post-graduate qualification from Tier 2 College/University) with 7-9 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated commercial awareness, and an interest in understanding and explaining the commercial context of accounting information.
• Experience of delivering financial information to senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional presentation skills.
• Computer literacy: Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint, Word, HFM or similar consolidation tools.
• Comfortable dealing with large datasets, with respect to data organisation and identifying key messages.
