In financial operations at PwC, you will specialise in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations within organisations. Your work will involve assessing financial processes, identify areas for improvement, and design and implement solutions to streamline financial operations, enhance controls, and reduce costs. You will be responsible for providing guidance on financial systems implementation, process automation, and financial shared services.

Competency Overview: Finance Solutions – Record To Report

What does this role entail?The Finance Solution team works closely with client and project teams in the US to help CFOs and their finance organizations identify, design and implement programs that transform their finance functions to meet today’s demanding requirements while continuing to provide valuable insights to the business.We work closely with clients to diagnose current-state finance operations, identify improvement opportunities, design future-state processes, and implement digital and process solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control in financial reporting.

Position Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

As a Team Member, You Will Work With The US Project Team On Engagements That May Involve (but Not Limited To)
  • Process Transformation & Optimization
  • Lead assessments and diagnostics of clients’ R2R processes, identifying pain points, inefficiencies, and control gaps.
  • Design future-state processes aligned with leading practices and automation opportunities.
  • Drive simplification, standardization, and centralization initiatives across global finance functions.
  • Technology Enablement & Digital Finance
  • Support implementation and optimization of Last mile tools (BlackLine, Trintech, Floqast, Workiva, Alteryx, Power BI).
  • Collaborate with technology teams to define system requirements, support testing, and ensure smooth deployment.
  • Leverage analytics, RPA, and AI-based solutions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Financial Close & Reporting Excellence
  • Improve close cycle timelines, accuracy of financial statements, and reconciliation efficiency.
  • Implement best-in-class closing calendars, governance models, and reporting frameworks.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication
  • Act as a trusted advisor to client CFOs, Controllers, and Shared Services leaders.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Procurement) to ensure end-to-end process alignment.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality deliverables, presentations, and reports for leadership reviews.
  • People Development & Knowledge Sharing
  • Contribute to firm-wide knowledge creation, methodologies, and accelerators for finance transformation projects.

Knowledge Required

An ideal candidate for the Finance Solutions practice of PwC Advisory Acceleration Center should be proficient in one or more of the below:
  • Advising global organizations on improving efficiency and effectiveness in Record to Report processes
  • Have a strong business acumen, with an ability to understand how business processes and decisions impact people and organization
  • Ability to conduct walkthroughs, workshops and meetings involving various business stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of Record to Report processes (GL, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, Reconciliations, Financial Close, Inventory Accounting and Reporting).
  • Exposure to automation and reporting tools like BlackLine, Trintech, Floqast, Workiva.
  • Working knowledge of any digital tools and accelerators such as Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau, Power Automate, Power Apps etc. would be an added advantage

Educational Background

  • An undergraduate degree from top institutes followed by relevant work experience (Core Consulting experience would be an added bonus), or
  • MBA in Finance from a premium B-School / Qualified CA / CPA/ ICWA / CMA with relevant consulting experience
