What You’ll Do
As a Sustainability Strategist, you’ll work with global clients to embed sustainability at the heart of business strategy. You will:
- Design and implement sustainability-driven business strategies and transformation programs.
- Co-create value-driven models balancing economic, environmental, and social outcomes.
- Develop sustainability roadmaps and implementation plans in areas like net-zero, circularity, clean energy, and SDGs.
- Drive thought leadership and partner with global alliances (UN, WEF, WBCSD, FICCI) to shape the responsible business agenda.
- Lead conversations on low-carbon transitions, carbon neutrality, and decarbonization strategies.
- Support clients in sustainable IT transformations — assessing and reducing tech-related environmental footprints.
- Craft go-to-market plans and entry strategies with a sustainability-first lens.
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications
- MBA from a Tier-1 institute with 3+ years (post-MBA) experience in strategy consulting, sustainability, or related fields
- Experience solving complex problems through data-driven insights, financial modeling, and stakeholder collaboration
- Proven ability to structure sustainability business cases, deliver client-ready materials, and drive transformation programs
- Strong communication and storytelling skills — ability to simplify the complex for C-suite audiences
- Experience working in cross-functional, multicultural environments
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word; Power BI / Tableau is a plus
Preferred Experience (Any One Or More Areas Below)
Area 1: Sustainability Strategy
- Deep knowledge of sustainability themes: circular economy, net-zero, SDGs, carbon emissions
- Experience with LCAs, materiality assessments, sustainability audits, and strategic roadmap development
Area 2: Sustainable Technology
- Background in digital, cloud, and IT sustainability
- Understanding of data center emissions, software lifecycle footprints, and sustainable tech strategy
Area 3: ESG Reporting, Data, and Platforms
- Familiarity with ESG regulations/standards like CSRD, IFRS, EU Taxonomy, DPP
- Experience with EHS/ESG platforms (SAP, Workiva, Enablon, Oracle, etc.)
- Involvement in ERP and digital transformation projects linked to ESG outcomes
Area 4: Energy & Carbon
- Strong experience in clean energy strategy (e.g., PPAs, RECs, offsets)
- Understanding of carbon markets, energy transitions, and emissions strategies
- Knowledge of regional energy regulations and net-zero pathways
Area 5: Responsible Value Chain
- Hands-on with circular economy models in sectors like plastics, e-waste, packaging, etc.
- Experience with reverse logistics, EPR regulations, and supplier sustainability assessments
- Strong skills in business model innovation, TNFD frameworks, and biodiversity standards
