Job Description

Job Overview:

The Key Account Manager (KAM) will be responsible for selling automotive cables to OEMs, Tier 1, and Tier 2 suppliers across India. This role will focus on building strong relationships, driving sales growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction in the automotive sector. The KAM will work closely with the sales, engineering, and production teams to meet customer requirements and contribute to the company's market expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Business Development:

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase sales of automotive cables to OEMs, Tier 1, and Tier 2 suppliers.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships.
  • Conduct regular visits to OEMs and suppliers to maintain and grow key accounts.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all sales-related activities for assigned accounts.

2. Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers at OEMs and suppliers.
  • Understand the customer's business needs and provide tailored solutions based on product offerings.
  • Address any concerns or issues raised by clients and work towards resolution.

3. Sales Reporting & Forecasting:

  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular updates on account progress.
  • Track and report on sales performance against targets and KPIs.
  • Prepare detailed reports on customer feedback, market trends, and the competitive landscape.

4. Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, logistics) to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to manage product development, pricing strategies, and delivery schedules.

5. Market Intelligence:

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and customer meetings to strengthen the brand presence.

6. Negotiation & Contract Management:

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with key clients.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining profitability.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics) or B.Sc.
  • MBA (preferred)

• Experience:

  • 0 to 3 years of experience in sales, account management, or business development, specifically in the automotive industry.
  • Proven experience working with OEMs and Tier 1 & Tier 2 suppliers in the automotive sector.

• Industry Exposure:

  • Experience in the automotive OEM sector, cable industry, auto components, tires, lubricants, or battery industry.

• Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) for effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and senior management.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and persuade.
  • Good understanding of automotive cable requirements and applications.
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills.
  • Proactive, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.
