Position Overview

Sales Merchandiser

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Buyer Management

  • Handle daily communication with international buyers and buying offices.
  • Share new collections, product portfolios, and factory capabilities to generate inquiries.
  • Understand buyer technical requirements, order volumes, pricing expectations and timelines.
  • Prepare RFQs, quotations, cost sheets, and negotiate pricing.
  • Convert sampling and inquiries into confirmed Purchase Orders.

Product Development & Merchandising

  • Drive sampling development with the design and production teams.
  • Share sample timelines, cost approvals, material options, and finish approvals.
  • Maintain product files, BOMs, pricing sheets and specification documents.
  • Track customer feedback and secure approvals quickly.

Order Execution & Delivery

  • Create and manage Time & Action Plans for each order.
  • Coordinate with production teams for carpentry, finishing, metalwork, upholstery, and packing.
  • Monitor material readiness, timelines, and quality.
  • Ensure packaging specs, labelling, compliance and export standards.
  • Support in container planning, dispatch and documentation.

Sales Reporting & Business Growth

  • Maintain sales reports, order trackers and buyer-wise business data.
  • Analyze past sales and identify growth opportunities.
  • Support in new business development and market expansion.
  • Attend trade shows / virtual meetings as required.

Skills & Experience Required

  • 2–5 years experience in

    furniture merchandising / sales merchandising / home category exports

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    wood materials, finishes, hardware, packaging, costing, and production cycles

    .
  • Ability to negotiate sales and pricing.
  • Excellent English writing and speaking for customer communication.
  • Advance Excel / cost sheet / T&A management capability.
  • Preferably experience working with

    international buyers and compliance requirements

    .

Soft Skills

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong follow-up and accountability mindset.
  • Hustler attitude – able to push sales and close orders.
  • Problem solver with fast decision-making.
  • Comfortable working inside a factory environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business, Merchandising, Furniture, or related fields.
