Job Description

Position Overview:

The Head of Sales is responsible for leading, developing, and executing the hotel’s sales strategy to maximize revenue across all market segments, including corporate, leisure, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and travel trade. This role focuses on driving business growth, building long-term client relationships, and ensuring the hotel achieves its room and banquet sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the hotel’s business goals and brand standards.
  • Identify new business opportunities, emerging markets, and key accounts to increase market share.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to ensure the hotel maintains a competitive edge.

Sales Management

  • Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and departmental targets.
  • Set annual sales budgets, revenue forecasts, and action plans.
  • Oversee key account management and personally manage high-value clients or strategic partners.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to create promotions, packages, and campaigns to drive occupancy and revenue.

Business Development & Client Relations

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agents, event planners, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, and sales missions.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to maximize profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with Revenue Management and Front Office to optimize rate strategies and room inventory utilization.
  • Prepare regular sales performance reports, market analysis, and business forecasts for management.
  • Ensure sales processes, documentation, and CRM data are maintained accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in hotels or resorts.
  • Strong network within corporate, MICE, and travel trade segments.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Leadership ability with a results-driven and customer-centric approach.
  • Proficient in MS Office, CRM systems, and hotel sales software (e.g., Delphi, Opera, or similar).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Siliguri, West Bengal: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Required)
