Position: Safety Head / EHS Officer

🔵 ROLE OVERVIEW
We are urgently seeking an experienced Safety Head / EHS Officer to lead and manage all health, safety, and environmental functions across our construction, interior fit-out, datacentre, and infrastructure projects.
The Safety Head will be responsible for preparing and enforcing all EHS documentation, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, conducting safety training, performing audits, and ensuring safe site operations.
This role is critical to maintaining zero-incident culture and ensuring all projects follow industry best safety practices.
🔵 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1️⃣ EHS Documentation & Planning
Prepare, review, and maintain all mandatory safety documents:
HIRA – Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment
JSA – Job Safety Analysis
EHS Management Plan
SOPs – Standard Operating Procedures
MOPs – Method of Procedure (especially for datacentres & live environments)
Work Method Statements (WMS)
Logistics & Traffic Management Plan
Emergency Response Plan (ERP)
Incident/Accident Investigation Report
Toolbox Talk reports & safety meeting minutes
Ensure all EHS documents are approved and updated at every project stage.
2️⃣ Site Safety Supervision
Conduct daily and weekly site inspections to identify unsafe acts/conditions.
Implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Ensure workers follow PPE norms, barricading, work-permit systems, and safe work practices.
Establish safety controls for working at height, electrical safety, confined space, lifting operations, and hot works.
3️⃣ Training & Awareness
Conduct safety induction for all new workers and subcontractors.
Organize regular Toolbox Talks, Safety Drills, Mock Drills, and awareness programs.
Train project teams on SOPs, MOPs, LOTO procedures, emergency response, and hazard control.
4️⃣ Compliance & Audits
Ensure compliance with:
OSHA standards
IS codes
BOCW (Building & Other Construction Workers Act)
Environmental compliance
Fire & life safety norms (NFPA, NBC 2016)
Conduct internal EHS audits and prepare audit reports.
Close NCRs and track EHS KPIs for each project.
5️⃣ Coordination & Leadership
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, QC, MEP, Subcontractors, and client EHS teams.
Attend site coordination meetings and present EHS performance reports.
Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
Implement culture of safety-first on all sites.
6️⃣ Datacentre / Live Environment Safety (Specific Experience Preferred)
Prepare & follow Method of Procedure (MOP) for critical work in live datacentres.
Conduct risk assessment for electrical shut-downs, UPS rooms, server racks, HVAC areas.
Implement strict protocols for dust control, cable routing, access, and emergency operations.
🔵 REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Strong knowledge of EHS plans, SOP, MOP, HIRA, JSA, Work Permits.
Excellent report preparation and documentation skills.
Deep understanding of construction, interiors, datacentre & infrastructure safety.
Knowledge of PPE standards, fire safety norms, electrical safety, lifting operations.
Good communication, leadership, and training ability.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple project sites.
🔵 QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma / Degree in Engineering with specialization in Safety preferred or Civil Engineering working as safety officer.
Mandatory: Certification in Safety / EHS / NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA.
5–10 years experience in Construction / Interiors / Datacentre / Infrastructure safety roles.
Strong knowledge of statutory laws (BOCW, NBC, IS codes, factory act).
