Key Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements and user stories into clear, comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases (functional, regression, and edge cases).

• Lead exploratory testing to uncover usability gaps, corner-case failures, and product risks early in the cycle.

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers to refine acceptance criteria, prioritize defects, and shape release scope based on risk and impact.

• Partner with Engineering to ensure testability, define quality gates, and validate builds across web and API layers.

• Execute test cycles across environments; log, triage, and track defects to closure using JIRA (or similar).

• Own release readiness activities (sanity, smoke, regression), sign-off quality reports, and contribute to go/no-go decisions.

• Create and maintain QA assets: traceability matrices, data sets, checklists, and reusable templates.

• Contribute to backlog grooming, sprint planning, and product walkthroughs; advocate for customer experience and measurable quality outcomes (NFRs, SLAs).

• (Add-on) For Identity & Access Management (IAM) modules: validate auth flows, role/permission models, SSO, and session/security behaviours.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in writing high-quality test cases and executing exploratory testing.

• Solid understanding of SDLC/STLC, testing types (functional, regression, usability, compatibility), and defect lifecycle.

• Ability to read user stories, challenge ambiguity, and co-create acceptance criteria with a product lens.

• Working knowledge of API testing (e.g., Postman, REST/JSON), basic SQL for data validation, and version control fundamentals (Git).

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, sprint ceremonies, and tools like JIRA, TestRail (or equivalent).

• Excellent written and verbal communication; crisp documentation and stakeholder updates.

• Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable in fast-paced, iterative product environments.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)

• Exposure to Identity & Access Management (IAM): Authentication/Authorization concepts, SSO, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, MFA, RBAC/ABAC.

• Experience with test automation basics (e.g., Playwright/Selenium) for smoke/regression suites.

• Familiarity with performance and security testing fundamentals; ability to raise early concerns and coordinate specialized tests.

• Understanding of product analytics/telemetry and using data to inform test focus and quality metrics.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests into build/release workflows.
