Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Plant / Project Head to spearhead the setup and operations of a large-scale greenfield manufacturing facility. This leadership role requires end-to-end accountability from construction to commissioning and subsequently, full-scale plant operations. The ideal leader will establish governance structures, build high-performing teams, and deliver on ambitious production, quality, and efficiency goals while managing complete P&L responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Plant Operations
Lead the execution of the greenfield project from construction, installation, and commissioning through steady-state operations.
Oversee complete plant functions including Production, Quality, SCM, EHS, HR, and Finance.
Build organizational structures, governance systems, and drive a performance-first culture.
Ensure on-time ramp-to-rate achievement while meeting or exceeding global operational benchmarks.
Manage stakeholder engagement, reporting, and regulatory compliance at both local and global levels.
Manufacturing & Production Excellence
Drive shop-floor operations including OEE improvement, yield optimization, and cost-per-unit competitiveness.
Scale production capacity from initial ramp-up to multi-gigawatt throughput.
Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM practices for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Partner with R&D teams to accelerate process innovation and new product introduction (NPI).
Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
Lead end-to-end equipment lifecycle management – from installation to predictive and preventive maintenance.
Implement world-class uptime strategies supported by MTTR, MTBF, and reliability KPIs.
Collaborate with OEMs for AMC, spares management, and technology upgrades.
Develop multi-skilled maintenance teams across mechanical, electrical, automation, and control systems.
Utilities & Infrastructure
Own responsibility for all critical plant utilities: power, water, HVAC, compressed air, and waste management.
Drive infrastructure planning, installation, and commissioning to support both current and future scale-up needs.
Ensure 24/7 reliability, sustainability initiatives, and cost optimization across utilities.
Lead long-term capacity planning aligned with plant growth.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience: 18–25 years in high-tech, process-driven industries (solar, semiconductors, advanced materials, or electronics).
Proven expertise in large-scale project execution (₹1,000 Cr+), greenfield setups, or rapid ramp-up operations.
Strong background in automation, MES, inline metrology, and high-throughput manufacturing.
Hands-on exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM with measurable results.
Education: B.Tech / M.Tech in Engineering or Technology; MBA preferred.
Attributes: Strategic thinker with strong execution focus, cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, and resilience to deliver in high-pressure, fast-scaling environments.
