Production Manager

Job Purpose: The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes to ensure products are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to standard. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage resources effectively to meet business goals. Key Responsibilities:Production Planning & Control Develop and implement production schedules to meet demand forecasts. Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials. Monitor production KPIs (output, quality, efficiency, wastage). Operations Management Oversee daily production operations and resolve bottlenecks. Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality guidelines, and customer requirements. Team Management Lead, train, and supervise production staff and shift supervisors. Monitor workforce productivity and allocate resources effectively. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Quality & Process Improvement Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure product standards. Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and other process improvement techniques. Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Inventory & Material Management Coordinate with the procurement and stores team for raw material availability. Minimize production downtime due to material shortages. Maintain records for production reports, wastage, and utilization. Reporting & Coordination Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production reports. Coordinate with maintenance, logistics, and supply chain teams for smooth operations. Support management in achieving business objectives. Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Production Management / Industrial Engineering or related field. Minimum 8-14 years of experience in production or operations (industry-specific). Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and ERP tools. Leadership and people management skills. Problem-solving and decision-making ability under pressure. Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
