Job Title: Product Marketing Manager

Location: Delhi/Kolkata

CTC: 10 LPA to 20 LPA


Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Product Marketing Manager to lead the growth and adoption of our innovative Android app in rural India. This pivotal role combines strategic product thinking with hands-on product development and marketing execution. You will be responsible for understanding the unique needs of rural users, defining the app's growth strategy, driving user acquisition through our agent network, and ensuring the app's features are relevant and impactful. Your success will directly contribute to our mission of digital empowerment across rural India.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Understanding of Rural India segment with experience of working with large-scale multi lingual apps.
  • Understanding of the underlying payment infrastructure like Payment Gateways, UPI, Wallets etc.
  • Drive B2B app downloads activation, and user retention through growth strategies.
  • Develop and manage marketing campaigns, partnerships, and referral programs.
  • Analyze ads revenue, conversion funnels, and customer behavior to optimize monetization.
  • Collaborate with product teams to propose new services, features, and enhancements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor strategies to fuel innovation.
  • Mandatory:

    Direct experience working with or understanding the rural Indian market, including consumer behavior, distribution channels, and cultural sensitivities.
  • Experience with mobile applications, fintech (UPI or Wallet systems), e-commerce, or telecom sectors is highly desirable. Startup experience is also desirable.



Skills requirement:

  • Strong Marketing and Brand positioning experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences (technical, business, rural users).
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Understanding of digital payment ecosystems (UPI), e-commerce (ONDC), and financial services in India.
  • Ability to travel frequently to rural areas for market research and agent engagement.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Marketing & User Acquisition:

  • Design and implement effective marketing campaigns tailored for rural audiences, leveraging local languages, cultural nuances, and appropriate communication channels.
  • Work closely with the agent network to provide them with necessary marketing materials, training, and incentives to drive user acquisition and engagement.
  • Develop strategies to educate rural users on the benefits and usage of various app features (e.g., UPI payments, e-commerce, eLearning, voice calls).
  1. Product Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Collaborate with the development team to define and prioritize product features based on market research, user feedback, and business objectives for rural users.
  • Develop a clear product roadmap that aligns with the overall company vision and growth targets.
  • Continuously identify new service opportunities relevant to rural consumers (e.g., specific agricultural services, local classifieds, micro-insurance).
  1. Business Development & Growth:

  • Formulate and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new features and overall app adoption in rural markets.
  • Optimize the agent referral program to maximize app downloads, active users, and service utilization.
  • Identify and forge strategic partnerships with local businesses, financial institutions, and government initiatives relevant to rural services (e.g., ONDC participants, local merchants for e-commerce, gold loan providers).
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes impacting rural digital services.
  1. Market Research & Insights:

  • Conduct deep dives into rural consumer behavior, preferences, and pain points through surveys, focus groups, and field visits.
  • Gather and analyze user feedback to inform product improvements and new feature development.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to user acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue, providing regular reports and actionable insights.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Product Management, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
