Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Manager / Executive Industry: Manufacturing / Engineering Experience: 2+ years (preferably in manufacturing procurement) Qualification: ITI/Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Procurement Manager to lead the sourcing and procurement of materials, components, and services essential for our factory operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of mechanical components, an understanding of vendor management, and the ability to negotiate effectively to achieve cost savings without compromising quality or timelines. Key Responsibilities: Manage the end-to-end procurement process of raw materials, machined components, jigs & fixtures, and other factory equipment. Source and develop reliable vendors for machining components, materials, and specialized industrial services. Evaluate vendor quotations, negotiate prices, terms, and conditions to secure the best value. Ensure timely procurement of high-quality components in compliance with technical specifications and delivery schedules. Collaborate with internal engineering and production teams to understand technical requirements and clarify specifications. Maintain strong knowledge of mechanical components, machining processes, and GD&T to assess technical feasibility of components and vendor capabilities. Monitor and manage vendor performance, including timely deliveries, quality compliance, and cost competitiveness. Prepare and maintain procurement reports, cost analyses, vendor evaluation records, and inventory planning data. Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and lead times. Coordinate with finance for purchase order processing, payments, and budget control. Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations. Candidate Requirements: Good technical understanding of mechanical components, machining processes, and the ability to read mechanical drawings. Practical knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ability to interpret technical specifications. Proven experience in managing procurement of jigs, fixtures, and precision machined components. Strong vendor management and negotiation skills. Ability to analyze cost structures and implement cost-saving strategies. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment. Preferred Skills: Experience with ERP procurement modules (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally). Knowledge of ISO quality systems. Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles. Compensation: Competitive and based on experience.
