Job Summary

The Procurement and Shipping Logistics Lead is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement and logistics operations, including sourcing, vendor management, order processing, inbound/outbound shipments, and inventory coordination. The role ensures timely availability of materials and efficient delivery performance while optimizing cost, quality, and operational efficiency to support production and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement

1. Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
2. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for materials, components, and services.
3. Issue purchase orders and maintain accurate records of procurement activities.
4. Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery timelines, and pricing.
5. Ensure timely material availability for production and project requirements.
6. Coordinate with the Finance team for vendor payments and resolve invoice discrepancies.
7. Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and identify alternate sourcing options.

Shipping & Logistics

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations.

• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, customs documentation, and clearance processes.

• Liaise with freight forwarders, transporters, and customs brokers for smooth movement of goods.

• Optimize shipping costs and lead times through appropriate route and mode selection.

• Track shipments, manage delivery schedules, and resolve logistics-related issues proactively.

• Maintain accurate inventory, shipping, and dispatch records.

• Coordinate closely with warehouse and production teams for dispatch planning.

Cost & Process Optimization

• Identify cost-saving opportunities across procurement and logistics functions.

• Implement process improvements and digital tools to enhance operational efficiency.

• Prepare periodic reports on procurement status, shipment schedules, and cost analysis.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure adherence to company policies, import/export regulations, and trade compliance requirements.

• Maintain documentation as per ISO, QMS, and other regulatory standards.

• Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and material handling as per industry guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

• 5–8 years of experience in procurement and logistics operations.

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and MS Office applications.

• Good understanding of customs regulations, international shipping, and Incoterms.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
