Job Description

The Pre-Sales Business Analyst (BA) is the vital link between our Sales and Delivery teams.

Your primary mission is to create winning proposals quickly and ensure the Sales team fully

understands what we are promising to deliver. You achieve this by clearly defining project

scope, preparing SRS, coordinating reliable estimates, and actively guiding the Sales team. You

also maintain essential daily and monthly reporting on the sales proposal pipeline.


Key Responsibilities


1. Proposal Creation and Writing


● Write and edit professional proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and responses to

client RFPs/RFIs.

● Translate complex technical solutions into clear, simple language that focuses on client

value and business benefits.

● Ensure all documents are high-quality with Low-fidelity wireframes, flow charts, process

diagrams and always submitted on or before the deadline.


2. Scope Definition and Sales Guidance


● Guide the Sales team on how to present the scope to clients, explaining what's included

and, crucially, what is not included.

● Support the Sales team during client Q&A sessions by providing a deep understanding

of the proposed scope.


3. Estimation and Coordination


● Clearly define the work and tasks so Technical Manager/Project Managers (PMs) for

providing accurate time and cost estimates.

● Run estimation meetings with technical leads and review their figures to ensure they

align with the proposed solution and company goals.

● Consolidate all approved cost, effort, and timeline estimates into the final proposal.


4. Requirements Elicitation and Documentation


● Lead requirements gathering sessions with clients (or internal stakeholders) to define the

initial, high-level business and functional needs for potential projects.

● Write and maintain the Software Requirements Specification (SRS) document, detailing

the functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, flow diagrams, wireframes

user stories and acceptance criteria for the solution being proposed.

● Ensure the SRS accurately reflects the scope, aligns with the proposed solution

architecture, and serves as the official scope baseline for estimation and eventual project

handover.


5. Tracking and Reporting


● Update the Sales Proposal Tracker Sheet daily with the status of all active proposals,

due dates, estimates requested, and documents submitted.

● Rigorously track and manage the Estimation Sheet, ensuring all data points including the

date the estimate was requested, who is estimating it, and the final approved numbers

are accurate and current.

● Generate monthly summary reports for management and the Sales leadership team on

proposal metrics, including volume, win/loss rates, average estimation time, and pipeline

value.


Skills We Look For:


● Proposal Experience: Proven ability to write persuasive business and technical

proposals.

● Data & Reporting: Strong proficiency with spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets) for

daily tracking and monthly reporting.

● Mentorship & Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly

teach and guide non-technical colleagues (Sales) & Clients on complex project details.

● Coordination & Organization: Strong ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines

across various internal teams.

● Technical Knowledge: Understanding of how IT projects, software development, or

service delivery works.
