Operations Head

Role Overview

The Head of Operations is responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end operations of the FMCG food manufacturing business. This includes production, quality, procurement, supply chain, maintenance, and logistics. The role focuses on operational excellence, cost efficiency, quality assurance, and continuous improvement to support the company’s growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Develop and implement operational strategies in line with business goals.
• Plan, direct, and oversee daily plant operations to achieve production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
• Drive operational efficiency through process optimization and automation.
• Ensure alignment across departments—production, quality, supply chain, and maintenance—for seamless operations.

2. Production Management

• Oversee production planning and scheduling to meet sales and inventory requirements.
• Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and implement initiatives to improve throughput and reduce downtime.
• Ensure adherence to food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards (FSSAI, HACCP, ISO, GMP).

3. Supply Chain & Procurement

• Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw and packaging materials.
• Optimize supply chain performance, logistics efficiency, and vendor management.
• Manage cost control initiatives while maintaining product quality and service levels.

4. Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Enforce quality assurance and food safety standards across production lines.
• Ensure workplace safety and compliance with statutory and environmental regulations.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and zero defect manufacturing.

5. Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Lead, mentor, and develop multi-functional teams to enhance operational capability.
• Set clear performance expectations and track KPIs for production, quality, and delivery.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and innovation.

6. Continuous Improvement

• Lead TPM, Lean, or Six Sigma initiatives for productivity enhancement and waste reduction.
• Drive digital transformation and data-driven decision-making in operations.
• Identify opportunities to enhance margins through process and efficiency improvements.

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Deep understanding of FMCG food manufacturing processes and quality systems.
• Expertise in production planning, supply chain, and factory operations.
• Proven ability to drive cost efficiency, quality, and operational excellence.
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Proficiency in ERP and manufacturing management systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Food Technology / Operations Management.
• MBA or PG in Operations / Supply Chain preferred.
• 12–18 years of experience in FMCG or food manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
