Job Purpose: To manage legal affairs for the Birla Pivot Division of Grasim Industries Limited while supporting business functions and legal automation and other initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Litigation and Dispute Management: Manage all legal proceedings under Section 138 NI Act complaints, commercial suits, IBC matters and other civil/criminal litigation. Oversee case tracking, filing of applications, pleadings, arguments and coordinating with external counsel, including court appearances where necessary. External Counsel and Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison for external legal counsel. Prepare case briefs, align legal strategy with the Legal Head, finalize engagement terms and evaluate counsel performance. Coordinate with internal stakeholders across business functions to gather inputs and drive legal resolution. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain up-to-date case files and related documentation and ensure timely uploading of them to the company’s Litigation Management Tool. Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide range of commercial agreements relating to vendors/service providers, consultants, suppliers, customers, banks/financial institutions, logistic providers and strategic partnerships. Ensure contractual risk mitigation, compliance with legal provisions and alignment with business objectives. Support contract execution and renewals. Independently draft agreements tailored to unique business requirements and discuss finalization with the Legal Head. Contract Lifecycle Management Tool: Assist the Legal Head in the implementation and operationalization of the Contract Management Tool within the Birla Pivot Division. Legal Compliances Audit: Assist the Legal Head in conducting a bi-annual audit of compliance acknowledgements related to applicable legal compliances for the Birla Pivot Division. This includes identifying red flags, engaging with internal stakeholders across business functions and ensuring timely rectification to achieve full compliance for the Birla Pivot Division. Legal Research and Internal Advisory: Conduct legal research and provide reasoned opinions to address internal business and management queries. Monitoring Regulatory Changes: Stay abreast of changes and developments in legislations and work with the Legal Head to proactively advise the business on their implications and necessary mitigations. Workshops and Trainings: Support the Legal Head in organizing and conducting legal workshops and training sessions for business teams. GLCD Support: Work with the Legal Head to collaborate with GLCD on various legal issues, topics and initiatives. Qualification and Experience: Education: LL.B. from a recognized university. Experience: 5 - 7 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in corporate legal departments or law firms with exposure to commercial litigation and contract management. Experience in the legal department of an e-commerce company will be an added advantage and is preferable. Key Skills: Strong knowledge of civil, criminal and commercial laws. Expertise in litigation management, drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts. Ability to balance legal risks with business priorities.
