Purpose/Objective

"Site Head (Medium) - Solar O&M oversees the daily operations of a medium-scale (51-100 MW) solar energy site, ensuring financial, operational, and safety targets are consistently met. This role includes managing budgets, optimizing costs, and achieving performance metrics focused on solar plant efficiency and availability. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, fostering a strong safety culture, and driving operational excellence through effective maintenance and inventory management. Additionally, the Site Head manages personnel, implements strategic projects, and leads CSR initiatives, all contributing to the organization’s broader sustainability and performance goals.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Financial Management and Reporting: Monitor monthly budget performance against actuals, providing detailed reviews and explanations for deviations. Oversee OPEX, CAPEX, and procurement budgets to ensure alignment with solar site financial targets. Ensure timely payment processing and manage financial performance to meet revenue and expense goals. Drive full SAP implementation, ensuring preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules are mapped and completed within timelines. Analyze daily interruptions to identify patterns, utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to enhance solar asset reliability. Operational Excellence and Compliance: Meet and report on periodic performance targets such as Performance Ratio (PR), Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF), Plant Availability (PA), and Grid Availability (GA). Ensure zero repetitive audit observations with timely closure of audit points for IMS and MAAS. Maintain optimal inventory levels using VED (Vital, Essential, Desirable), FSN (Fast, Slow, Non-moving), and ABC analysis for effective stock management. Implement and oversee preventive maintenance, testing, calibration, and general solar asset upkeep. Ensure regular compliance with management systems (ESG, Legatrix, 5S, Business Excellence, IMS) and statutory regulations. People Development and Management: Manage recruitment to fill vacant positions within 45 days, maintaining the required team capacity. Meet training mandates, developing at least 20% of the workforce for potential role elevation. Coordinate with local stakeholders to build effective working relationships and support site activities. Safety and Environmental Health: Enforce a zero-accident policy and Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) at the site through a strong safety culture. Implement and monitor daily safety protocols, including safety talks and operational prechecks. Ensure compliance with safety audit requirements and promptly address safety risks, enforcing corrective actions as needed. Regularly review and update environmental health and safety procedures to comply with solar-specific requirements. Business Processes and Strategic Planning: Develop and implement business processes and strategies to ensure solar site operational efficiency. Oversee site planning, inventory, and procurement processes, ensuring minimal downtime and operational continuity. Lead ESG initiatives and business excellence practices, supporting the company’s long-term sustainability and solar energy objectives. Technology and Innovation: Implement and utilize technology platforms such as BAX and Google IC for enhanced operational tracking and efficiency. Maintain SCADA systems for seamless communication and monitor daily tasks to optimize site performance. Key Operational Targets: Track and report on key solar performance indicators, with insights on achievements and areas for improvement. Organize and execute VIP visits and events, ensuring all operational support for successful event delivery. Material and Asset Management: Manage site inventory and asset maintenance projects, ensuring they meet specified timelines, cost, and quality standards. Oversee scheduled calibration and testing of solar equipment to maintain operational standards. Supervise scrap disposal and ensure compliance with storage and preservation policies, especially for solar assets. Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualifications: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma - Electrical or Electronics or relevant to Energy Sector MBA - Advantageous Work Experience: 11-12 years of experience in Energy Sector is must.( If Diploma holder: additional 2-3 Y Exp. req.)
