Job Description: ManageEngine ITAM Specialist (HAM & SAM)
Role Summary
The ManageEngine ITAM Specialist will be responsible for implementing and managing Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) processes using ManageEngine tools. The role involves ensuring compliance, optimizing asset lifecycle, integrating ITAM with ITSM workflows, and maintaining CMDB accuracy.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in ManageEngine AssetExplorer or ServiceDesk Plus ITAM modules.
- Proficiency in Hardware Asset Management (HAM) lifecycle: procurement, deployment, maintenance, disposal.
- Proficiency in Software Asset Management (SAM): license compliance, usage tracking, vendor audits.
- Deep understanding of ITIL-aligned ITAM processes and governance.
- Experience in asset discovery, reconciliation, and inventory accuracy.
- Ability to maintain CMDB and asset repository integrity.
- Strong skills in reporting and analytics for asset utilization and compliance.
- Experience in managing software license audits and ensuring compliance.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with ServiceNow ITAM or other enterprise ITAM tools.
- Knowledge of cloud asset management (AWS, Azure, SaaS subscriptions).
- Experience with automation scripting for asset lifecycle tasks.
- Understanding of vendor management and contract governance.
- Exposure to financial management for IT assets (cost optimization, depreciation).
- Knowledge of security compliance related to asset lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage HAM and SAM processes in ManageEngine.
- Ensure accurate asset tracking from procurement to disposal.
- Maintain software license compliance and prepare for vendor audits.
- Define and enforce ITAM policies and standards.
- Integrate ITAM with ITSM workflows for incident, change, and request processes.
- Identify automation opportunities for asset updates and reconciliation.
- Develop dashboards and reports for asset utilization, compliance, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and IT teams for asset planning and budgeting.
- Ensure CMDB accuracy by reconciling asset data and maintaining relationships.
Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management with ManageEngine tools.
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification preferred; HAM/SAM certifications are a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work in complex environments.
