Maintenance Manager

We are in the process of identifying a suitable candidate for the role of Maintenance Manager. This role will be based in Pune and will report to the Factory Manager, Automotive Pune.

The Maintenance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all factory assets—including equipment, utilities, and facilities. This position is responsible for driving Maintenance Excellence through the deployment of lean manufacturing tools and digitalisation initiatives, such as predictive maintenance, IoT integration, and MES. The Maintenance Manager will champion sustainability by implementing energy management systems, optimizing resource consumption, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities (or What you can expect in the role)

  • Oversee the maintenance of all factory equipment’s to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintenance strategy development and deployment.
  • Lead & manage teams, ensuring proper training and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Well versed with utility systems including HT – LT Distribution, Coolant systems, Cooling Towers, Chillers, HVAC, compressed air systems etc.
  • Plan and execute maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate projects including upgrades, expansions, and new installations.
  • Monitor and control maintenance budgets and expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and service providers for maintenance related activities.
  • Collaborate with Admin team to oversee facilities infrastructure maintenance.
  • Spare part optimization, standardization and development.
  • Reliability assessment and machine upgradation and modification.
  • Deployment of Digitalization across the factory
  • Aware of Energy Management Systems – ISO50001, ISO45001 and 14001.
  • Training and Development of the Team for EHS and Maintenance areas.
  • Adherence to SKF Group EHS objectives and the targets.

Requirements (or We expect you to have/be)

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 20-25 years of experience in industrial maintenance in manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC grinding machines, Furnaces and Utility systems.
  • Familiar and experience on systems like FANUC, Siemens and Mitsubishi controllers
  • Proven experience in project management and team leadership.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and TPM.

Metrics: -

  • D - Time reduction and MTBF improvement
  • Energy cost Reduction by 5 %
  • Reduction of Maintenance & Repair cost < 2.3 % with respect to Delivery
  • Reduction of Water consumption by 3%.
  • SKF Production system maturity.

Competencies: -

  • Hand on experience on SIEMENS and FANUC CNC systems.
  • Sound knowledge about the machine retrofitting and reconditioning of CNC and SPM.
  • Hands on experience in Machine Spindles and Hydraulic systems.
  • Sound knowledge of Heat Treatment Furnaces and Combustion systems.
  • Expertise in the Cost-Effective maintenance of Plant Utilities
  • Good awareness of EHS and QMS systems.
