UST is hiring a Research Analyst with the following primary responsibilities: Develop and maintain subject matter expert knowledge on authorizations, claims and policies to support utilization management and medical affairs activities Provide data analytics support and research related to potential changes in medical policies, claims payments, pre-certification lists, etc. Develop nurse staffing models for customer’s utilization management team Develop presentations and reports using clinical, survey, or administrative data in support of Customer’s analytical projects Interpret, summarize, and present analytic results in a clear, concise manner for customer Provide ad hoc reporting as requested by stakeholders Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, health care, public health, statistics or related quantitative area, plus minimum 2 years of experience in an analytical environment Background in healthcare data strongly preferred (e.g., claims, authorizations) Demonstrated advanced SQL / R programming skills with proven experience in data extraction, scrubbing and transformation, with the ability to perform QA and reasonableness checks Working knowledge of visualization tools, a plus (e.g., Tableau) Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, chart creation) Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills Self-starter with strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skills
