Information Technology Infrastructure Specialist

Purpose of the Role:

Responsibilities

Linux:

• Install, configure, harden, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
• Perform routine server maintenance—patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and log analysis.
• Manage web, application, and database servers hosted on Linux environments.
• Implement backup and recovery mechanisms.
• Monitor system health, capacity, and performance using tools like Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
• Develop scripts using Bash, Python, or similar languages for automation and operational efficiency.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) for deployment automation.

Cloud Administration:

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure cloud architectures on AWS and GCP.
• Implement cloud services such as EC2/Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage/S3, Load Balancers, Cloud SQL/RDS, Cloud Monitoring/CloudWatch, etc.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform / Cloud Deployment Manager / CloudFormation.
• Optimize cloud costs and resource utilization.
• Manage cloud security, access controls, and compliance configurations.
• Troubleshoot cloud-related incidents, performance issues, and service outages.
• Manage network configurations: firewalls, VPN, load balancers, routing, VPC/Subnetting.
• Ensure adherence to security best practices across cloud and server environments.
• Conduct vulnerability assessment and remediation in coordination with security teams.

Collaboration and Support:

• Work closely with development, networking, and security teams to ensure seamless integration, alignment with company-wide IT goals and cross-functional initiatives.
• Provide L2/L3 support for infrastructure incidents and participate in on-call rotations.
• Maintain detailed infrastructure documentation including architecture diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, system configurations, procedures, and knowledge base articles.

Qualifications:-

• 3–6 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure management (AWS & GCP).
• Strong expertise in Linux server administration.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python).
• Good understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, Subnetting, Firewalls).
• Experience with monitoring/log management tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Stackdriver, ELK, etc.).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
