About the Role

The Sr. Immigration Specialist manages global immigration, with a strong emphasis on US processes such as new CAP registration, H-1B extensions and transfers, and permanent residence sponsorship. This role applies technical expertise to identify and advise on employment law, policies, and procedures affecting foreign nationals, and acts as a liaison between the business and external immigration counsel. Additionally, this role supports People Operations for the EMEA region, including onboarding/offboarding, and developing knowledge of local employment laws and benefits. The role will be required to support GMT timezone.


Immigration -

  • Immigration Strategy: Develop and implement immigration strategies to support the organization's business objectives and ensure compliance with immigration laws.
  • US Visa Processing: Manage the entire visa application process for new and existing H-1B visa holders, CAP H-1B lottery registration process including posting LCA posting notices, Internal posting Notices as part of the PERM recruitment process, preparing employment verification letters for visa stamping, communicating with government agencies as needed, and tracking the status of applications.
  • Global Visa Processing: Manage global business/tourist visa requests as per business requirements
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable immigration laws and regulations, including work authorization tracking of all temporary work authorizations and I-9 re-verifications.
  • Employee Support: Provide guidance and support to foreign national employees throughout the immigration process, including addressing any questions or concerns they may have and collaborate with outside counsel to resolve issues.
  • Relationship Management: Build, maintain and manage the vendor relationship with outside immigration attorneys, visa consultants, foreign national employees, foreign national managers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of immigration-related information, including visa types, expiration dates, and employee status.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of immigration policies and procedures.
  • Training: Provide training to employees on immigration-related matters, including visa types, eligibility requirements, and the application process.


EMEA People Ops -

  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Manage and streamline the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees within the EMEA region, ensuring a positive and efficient experience.
  • Local Law & Benefits Knowledge: Proactively learn and stay updated on local employment laws, regulations, and standard benefits practices within the EMEA region to provide informed support and guidance.
  • Employee Support (EMEA): Serve as an initial point of contact for HR Ops-related queries from EMEA-based employees, escalating complex issues as necessary and ensuring timely and helpful responses.
  • Collaboration: Partner effectively with other members of the global People team to ensure alignment and consistent HR practices across all regions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in a corporate environment.
  • Proven experience in managing the full lifecycle of US visa processes (H-1B, PERM, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
