Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile HR Executive to serve as the central HR hub for our internal team and to provide foundational support to our portfolio companies. This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of venture capital and operations, requiring you to build robust HR practices from the ground up, manage diverse talent needs, and act as a strategic partner in fostering high-performance cultures. You will be a builder, a consultant, and a catalyst for growth.
Key Responsibilities
Internal HR & Operations (Wercatalyst Ventures Team):
· Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding for the Wercatalyst Ventures internal team.
· Administer all HR operations, including payroll, benefits, compliance, and maintaining impeccable employee records.
· Serve as the cultural champion, developing and driving engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and team-building events.
Portfolio Company Support & Consulting:
· Act as an HR consultant for early-stage portfolio companies, providing guidance on best practices for talent acquisition, performance management, and employee relations.
· Help portfolio companies build and scale their HR infrastructure, including drafting offer letters, employee handbooks, and basic policy frameworks.
· Conduct training sessions for portfolio company managers on essential topics like effective interviewing, feedback, and compliance.
Strategic Initiatives & Talent Advocacy:
· Partner with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support our venture-building goals.
· Build and nurture a talent network to source top-tier candidates for both internal and portfolio company roles.
· Analyze people metrics to provide insights and recommend data-driven strategies for talent retention and development across the ecosystem.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
· 1-2 years of experience in an HR generalist or business partner role, preferably within a fast-paced, startup, or consulting environment.
· Strong, hands-on knowledge of HR fundamentals, including recruitment, compliance, performance management, and employee relations.
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and effectively advise stakeholders at all levels.
· High degree of professionalism, discretion, and integrity when handling sensitive information.
· Proficient in HRIS platforms (e.g., BambooHR, Rippling, Gusto) and MS Office Suite.
