SUMMARY
Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Manager HR Operations (Compliance) to join our growing team in Kolkata. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless HR operations, with a strong focus on compliance management and end-to-end employee lifecycle support. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in industrial relations, process optimization, and regulatory adherence within high-paced, industrial environments. Reporting to the HR leadership, this position will play a key role in shaping HR strategies that align with operational excellence and organizational growth across our diverse portfolio, including steel mills, mining, slag management, and material handling operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR compliance processes across all operational units.
  • Oversee end-to-end employee lifecycle management, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, transfers, and offboarding.
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, statutory regulations, and internal policies across all sites and departments.
  • Collaborate with legal and operations teams to mitigate compliance risks and maintain audit readiness.
  • Develop and maintain HR documentation, records, and digital systems to support transparency and efficiency.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for industrial relations matters, including coordination with trade unions and labor authorities.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and drive corrective actions to maintain high standards.
  • Provide strategic insights and reporting on HR compliance metrics and workforce trends.

Requirements
Requirements:
  • 8 12 years of progressive experience in HR operations with a strong focus on compliance and employee lifecycle management.
  • MBA in HR or equivalent qualification with a solid foundation in labor laws and industrial relations.
  • Proven experience in industrial or heavy operational environments such as metal recovery, slag processing, mining, material handling, or earthmoving.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and streamline HR processes for scalability and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic, on-site environment with occasional travel across operational locations.
