About the Role

lead the Research & Investments Department


Key Responsibilities:


Research & Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth fundamental and capital market analysis of Indian listed companies across sectors.
  • Review and interpret financial statements, annual reports, investor presentations, and regulatory filings.
  • Carry out field investigations and market investigations to validate company data and industry assumptions.
  • Build, update, and maintain financial models (DCF, comparable multiples, scenario analysis, etc.).
  • Prepare detailed investment research reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Track industry trends, macroeconomic factors, geopolitical developments, and emerging technologies (including AI) and their impact on markets and investments.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the research team, ensuring structured processes and analytical rigor.
  • Set departmental goals, review research output, and establish best practices.
  • Provide guidance on methodology, modeling, and reporting standards.
  • Encourage continuous learning and professional growth within the team.

Internal Portfolio Management & Strategy

  • Oversee Marutinandan Capital’s

    investment portfolio

    —monitoring performance, risk exposure, and allocations.
  • Work with senior management to define and refine the company’s long-term investment strategy.
  • Present portfolio reviews, risk assessments, and research-based recommendations to management.
  • Ensure alignment between research insights and internal portfolio positioning.
  • Drive diversification, return optimization, and robust risk management frameworks for the company’s own capital.

Organizational Leadership

  • Head the

    Research & Investments Department

    .
  • Represent the department in internal strategy discussions and decision-making forums.
  • Ensure proper documentation, governance, and compliance of all research and investment activities.
  • Continuously enhance research processes, tools, and reporting standards.


Required Qualifications (any one):

  • Master’s in Economics
  • Ph.D. in Economics
  • Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA – Completed)
  • MBA in Finance from a reputed institute


Experience Required:

  • 9 to 15 years of progressive experience in equity research and investments.

  • Proven expertise in analyzing Indian listed companies across sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare investment reports and present recommendations at a senior level.
  • Prior experience in

    leading teams and managing research departments

    is essential.
  • Exposure to

    portfolio management and strategic investment oversight

    is strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases/tools.
