About the Role

We’re seeking an exceptional Head of Engineering who leads from the front—someone who combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise. You’ll be responsible for building and scaling our engineering organization while remaining deeply involved in architecture decisions and critical implementation work.

What You’ll Do

*Leadership & Strategy*

- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team across web, mobile, and backend disciplines

- Define technical strategy and architecture that supports Company X’s product vision and business goals

- Establish engineering culture, processes, and best practices that enable rapid, quality delivery

- Partner closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate vision into executable roadmaps

- Own engineering hiring, retention, and professional development

*Hands-On Technical Contribution*

- Actively contribute to codebase in React, React Native, and Golang—leading by example on critical features and architectural decisions

- Design and implement scalable systems on AWS infrastructure

- Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship through direct involvement

- Troubleshoot production issues and drive incident resolution when needed

- Set technical standards through actual implementation, not just documentation

## What You Bring

*Technical Expertise*

- Strong production experience with React and React Native for building modern web and mobile applications

- Proficiency in Golang for building scalable backend services and APIs

- Deep AWS knowledge with hands-on experience architecting and operating cloud infrastructure

- Track record of making sound architectural decisions that balance speed, scalability, and maintainability

- Comfort working across the full stack when needed

*Leadership Experience*

- 7+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years leading engineering teams

- Proven ability to scale teams from small to large while maintaining quality and velocity

- Experience hiring and developing engineers at all levels

- Strong communication skills—able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

- Track record of shipping products that customers love
