As a member of Juniper's Hardware Sustaining Engineering team, you will help ensure that we can build and deliver quality hardware products to our customers throughout the product lifecycle. You will collaborate with other Juniper engineering, component, and manufacturing teams on component multi-sourcing, change management, and hardware quality improvements. To be successful in this role, you must be a quick learner and comfortable working with complex hardware products. You must be able to analyze schematics and component datasheets, generate test plans, run tests, and review test reports. You will be self-driven and able to manage multiple priorities and deliver timely results. You must be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and get help from subject matter experts as needed to drive your goals. Responsibilities: Work with Juniper Component Engineering teams and ODM partners to review component multi-sourcing requests and vendor change notifications (PCNs). Generate test plans for component PCN and 2nd source qualification. Collaborate with hardware, software, and other cross-functional teams to help drive component qualification and test activities. Set up and run EDVT (Engineering Design Validation Test) and other hardware tests for qualification or failure analysis. Generate test reports and resolve failures. Review hardware test reports for new product releases and component qualifications, identify any issues, and work with appropriate teams to resolve them. Update schematics and bill of materials (BOM) and generate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) Work with Manufacturing Operations and other teams to expedite the implementation of HW quality improvements and bug fixes. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering. 2+ years of experience in hardware testing and troubleshooting at the board and system level. Strong understanding of electronic circuits and components. Familiar with hardware testing and validation tools and methodologies. Ability to generate detailed hardware test plans. Ability to review hardware test reports, identify problems, and provide feedback. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Familiar with schematic capture tools. (DxDesigner, Cadence System Capture). Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to drive quality goals. Capable of managing multiple priorities, tracking progress, and providing regular updates. Eagerness to learn and keep up with new technologies and methodologies. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with complex and modular networking hardware products (routers, switches, etc.) Demonstrated expertise in selecting and evaluating components based on a review of datasheets, application circuits, and quality and reliability data. Experience in setting up hardware testbeds for system tests and design validation steps such as EDVT, traffic testing, and system functional tests. Basic understanding of signal integrity concepts and familiarity with high-speed circuit design and debug. Familiarity with hardware description languages like Verilog and scripting languages like Python for Debugging. Familiarity with complete hardware product life cycle, including Engineering Change Management and Product Lifecycle Management tools such as Agile PLM.
