LOCATION & WORKING HOURS (IMPORTANT)
Location:
Remote position based in India (work-from-home). The role requires an India-based candidate who can work closely with North American stakeholders. Occasional travel to Canada may be required based on business needs and performance.
Core working hours:
1:00 PM – 9:30 PM IST, Monday to Friday. This schedule aligns with Canadian business hours and is a required part of the role.
Availability expectations:
Candidates must be comfortable with occasional calls outside core hours (earlier or later) for cross-timezone coordination and critical meetings.YOU AREA strategic, agile finance professional who prefers to roll up your sleeves. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and report to the CFO in Canada.
- Manage the general ledger end-to-end and perform reconciliations.
- Build and maintain dynamic financial models (P&L, cash flow, operating forecasts).
- Lead variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting cycles.
- Support intercompany financial operations with Canadian business units.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistent presentation across reporting deliverables.
- Align with GAAP and reporting frameworks (training provided if needed).
Skills & Attributes
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Power BI preferred.
- Excellent English communication — verbal and written.
- Highly proactive, self-managed, and results-focused.
- Comfortable working without a team and takes pride in doing the work personally.
- Flexible to collaborate during Canadian time zones; core hours listed above apply and occasional late/early calls are expected.
- Technical experience: familiarity with QuickBooks Enterprise is preferable.
Education & Experience
- CA, CPA, or MBA in Finance from a reputable Indian or international institution.
- 8–12 years of finance experience, including at least 3 years in a controller or FP&A role.
- Proven track record in closing books, producing reports, and handling complex financial data.
- Experience supporting North American or European finance teams is an advantage.
MUST HAVES
- CA, CPA, or MBA Finance qualification.
- Based in India and able to work remotely with reliable internet and a suitable home workspace.
- Willingness and ability to work core hours of 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM IST, with occasional later or earlier calls as needed for cross-border collaboration.
- Flexible to collaborate with Canadian time zones and travel to Canada occasionally.
