                                Job Description: Solar Field Sales Manager (Rooftop Systems)
Job Summary:
The Solar Field Sales Manager for Rooftop Systems will be responsible for leading and managing a team of solar sales consultants to drive sales of rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. This role requires a strong leader who can develop and execute sales strategies, mentor a team, and possess a solid technical understanding of solar technology, financing options, and the sales process from lead generation to project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Sales Strategy and Execution:
  * Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets for rooftop solar installations.
  * Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer data to identify new business opportunities and refine sales strategies.
  * Collaborate with marketing to generate qualified leads and optimize lead-to-sale conversion rates.
  * Lead the team in preparing and presenting compelling proposals, demonstrating the financial and environmental benefits of solar energy.
 * Team Leadership and Management:
  * Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of solar sales consultants.
  * Set clear sales goals, quotas, and performance metrics, and conduct regular performance reviews.
  * Provide continuous coaching and support to improve the team's sales skills, product knowledge, and customer-facing abilities.
  * Foster a high-energy, positive, and results-oriented team culture.
 * Technical and Operational Expertise:
  * Possess a strong understanding of solar PV technology, including panels, inverters, mounting systems, and battery storage.
  * Conduct or oversee site assessments to evaluate roof suitability, shading, and energy consumption patterns.
  * Guide the team in using design software to create accurate and efficient system layouts.
  * Act as a liaison between the sales team and the technical, engineering, and installation departments to ensure seamless project handovers and customer satisfaction.
  * Stay informed about local, state, and national solar incentives, regulations, and financing programs.
 * Customer Relationship Management:
  * Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, from initial contact through post-installation follow-up.
  * Negotiate and close high-value sales contracts.
  * Address complex customer questions and concerns, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.
Qualifications and Skills:
 * Experience:
  * Proven experience as a Sales Manager in the solar energy industry, with a focus on rooftop systems.
  * Demonstrated track record of leading a sales team to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
  * Experience with B2C and/or B2B sales of complex, high-ticket items.
 * Skills:
  * Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  * Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  * Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and market trends.
  * Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and solar design software.
  * Solid technical understanding of solar PV systems and their components.
  * Knowledge of solar financing options (e.g., leases, loans, PPAs) and government incentives.
  * Ability to work independently, manage a territory, and travel as needed.
 * Education:
  * A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  * Relevant industry certifications (e.g., NABCEP) are a plus.
