The General Manager - Export in the pharmaceutical industry is responsible for overseeing the international sales and distribution of pharmaceutical products. This includes developing export strategies, managing regulatory compliance, expanding into new markets, and building strong relationships with global clients and partners. The role requires deep knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, international trade laws, and market trends.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
:Develop and implement strategic export plans to drive business growth in international markets. Identify and prioritize target markets for pharmaceutical products based on demand and market potential. Align export strategies with company objectives and regulatory requirements.Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with international pharmaceutical regulations (e.g., FDA, EMA, WHO, or local regulatory authorities). Oversee the preparation and submission of necessary export documentation, including product registration, certificates of analysis, and other compliance requirements. Stay updated on changes in international trade and pharmaceutical regulations.Operations Management:
Manage the export process, including order fulfillment, shipping, and logistics, ensuring timely delivery of pharmaceutical products. Coordinate with production, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to maintain product availability and quality standards. Optimize export operations to control costs and improve efficiency.Business Development
:Identify and develop relationships with distributors, agents, and key clients in international markets. Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activity, and emerging trends in global markets. Drive negotiations, pricing strategies, and contract finalization with international partners.Team Leadership
:Lead and mentor the export team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance. Provide training on export procedures, compliance, and product knowledge. Conduct performance evaluations and develop career growth plans for team members.Financial Oversight
:Prepare and manage the export department's budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Monitor profitability, pricing strategies, and revenue from export operations. Collaborate with finance teams to manage invoicing, payment terms, and currency risks.Market Expansion
:Identify opportunities for product registration and entry into untapped markets. Work closely with the R&D and product development teams to customize products for specific markets. Attend international trade shows, exhibitions, and conferences to promote the company's pharmaceutical productsWork Experience Qualifications:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, International Business, or a related field.Minimum 8-12 years of experience in pharmaceutical exports or international sales.In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and compliance requirements in key global markets.Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.Proven experience in managing large-scale international distribution networks.Analytical skills with the ability to forecast trends and drive business decisions.Proficiency in CRM software and tools for export management.Multilingual abilities (preferred).Why You Should Join NewLife Medicals
