PURPOSE
To lead the Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) design strategy and execution for DLF’s hospitality projects, including clubs, hotels, resorts, and wellness spaces. The role ensures world-class standards, engineering excellence, sustainability, guest comfort, and cost-efficiency by driving MEP design across all project stages from concept to commissioning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive Operational Excellence
- Lead MEP design development across all stages – Concept, SD, DD, GFC.
- Collaborate with international MEP consultants, operators, and design teams to ensure global standards.
- Drive integration of cutting-edge technologies in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, IBMS, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
- Ensure coordination between Architecture, Interiors, and MEP systems to eliminate design conflicts.
Strategic Design & Innovation
- Ensure compliance with NBC, IS codes, ECBC, Fire & Life Safety, and IGBC/LEED standards.
- Conduct value engineering for optimal lifecycle costs without compromising performance or guest comfort.
- Introduce sustainable, smart building technologies to improve operational efficiency and guest experience.
- Leverage digital tools (Revit MEP, BIM, simulations) for accuracy, efficiency, and proactive risk management.
Cross-Functional Team Coordination
- Review and approve consultant deliverables, technical drawings, and BOQs.
- Support project teams during tendering, vendor evaluations, and site execution.
- Maintain technical documentation, design trackers, and ensure timely approvals.
- Act as the technical interface between consultants, operators, and project execution teams.
People Management
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, strengthening in-house technical capabilities.
- Build a high-performing MEP design team aligned with organizational goals.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous learning in sustainable and smart technologies
Business & Financial Acumen
- Align MEP design planning with project budgets and cost objectives.
- Support costing and procurement teams in technical vendor evaluations and negotiations.
- Balance technical innovation with financial feasibility and long-term operational efficiency.
Leadership
- Represent MEP design at leadership and operator-level discussions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international consultants and hotel operator technical teams.
- Champion innovation, sustainability, and guest-centric MEP solutions across all projects.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory, statutory, and operator-specific technical requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with MEP design changes, contractor dependencies, and compliance gaps.
- Uphold DLF’s commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in all MEP design initiatives.
Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Incorporate OH&S standards in MEP system designs, particularly in firefighting, electrical safety, and equipment planning.
- Ensure safety considerations are integrated into consultant contracts and site execution plans.
- Conduct safety design audits and ensure compliance with life-safety protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (M.Tech preferred).
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 15+ years of progressive experience in MEP design, with at least 5 years in hospitality projects.
- Minimum 5 years in design consultancy handling large-scale projects
