Cost Engineer

Looking for 5-6 years of experience in cost control, estimation, cost analysis for engineering projects, the company works in Bioenergy sector.

Role Description

1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting

·      Develop detailed and comprehensive cost estimates for engineering and construction projects considering materials, labor, equipment, subcontracting, and overheads.

·      Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to track expenditures and variances.

·      Analyze project design documents, specifications, and scope changes to update cost estimates accurately.

2. Cost Control & Reporting

·      Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle and identify deviations from the budget.

·      Prepare cost variance reports with recommendations for corrective actions to project teams and senior management.

·      Support decision-making by providing timely and accurate cost insights for project optimization.

3. Procurement Support

·      Collaborate with procurement teams in vendor identification, evaluation, and negotiation to ensure cost-effective sourcing consistent with project requirements.

·      Review supplier quotations, contracts, and proposals to validate accuracy and compliance with agreed budgets and specifications.

·      Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance.

4. Site and Office Coordination

·      Maintain active presence at project sites for real-time cost tracking, vendor coordination, and resource management.

·      Facilitate effective communication between site teams and head office functions to ensure seamless project execution and cost control.

5. Risk Management & Compliance

·      Anticipate and assess potential cost risks and develop mitigation strategies.

·      Ensure compliance with company policies, budgeting procedures, and regulatory frameworks related to project costing and procurement.

Skills & Competencies:

Technical Skills:

·      Strong knowledge of project cost estimation techniques and cost control practices.

·      Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP or cost management software.

• ·      Understanding of procurement processes including vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and purchase order management.
