Position Summary: The Manager - Controllership will be responsible for managing core controllership functions, including cost accounting, balance sheet integrity, month-end close, and compliance with Ind AS. The role involves partnering closely with FP&A, Procurement, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to support operational excellence and financial accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Cost Management and Accounting: Track and analyze operating costs such as cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.), software development expenses, and SaaS-related operating overheads. Implement and maintain effective cost control measures and processes. Balance Sheet Oversight: Manage key balance sheet items including prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, leases, and deferred revenues. Ensure timely and accurate reconciliations and reporting in line with Ind AS requirements. Maintain detailed schedules and supporting documentation for audit and management reporting. Monthly and Quarterly Closing: Lead month-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of financials related to assigned areas. Ensure adherence to reporting timelines and accuracy standards. Audit, Governance, and Compliance: Support statutory audits and internal audits, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely submission of schedules. Ensure compliance with Ind AS, Companies Act, and applicable tax and regulatory frameworks. Strengthen internal controls over financial reporting (including IFC, if applicable). Process Optimization: Drive initiatives to automate and enhance accounting processes and operational efficiency. Collaborate in the implementation of new accounting systems or upgrades (Oracle NetSuite). Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Revenue Operations, Procurement, Legal, and Product teams to ensure accounting treatment aligns with business practices. Provide accounting advisory support for new initiatives, contracts, and vendor arrangements. Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification; strong preference for first or second attempt CAs. 3 – 6 years of post-qualification experience in controllership/accounting roles, preferably in SaaS/technology sectors. Strong working knowledge of Ind AS (especially Ind AS 115 – Revenue Recognition, Ind AS 116 - Leases, Ind AS 38 - Intangibles). Experience in handling cost accounting, SaaS-related metrics, and balance sheet management. Expertise in ERP systems (such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
