Job Title: Chemical Lab Technician
Department: Laboratory / Quality Control / R&D
Location: Baroda, Gujarat
Reports To: Lab In-charge / Quality Manager / R&D Head
Experience: Fresher or Experienced (0–5 Years)
Salary Range: ₹20,000 – ₹35,000 per month (depending on qualification, skills, and experience)
Qualification Required: B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry or related field
About the RoleWe are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Chemical Lab Technician to join our laboratory team at Baroda, Gujarat. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting chemical tests, analyzing results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring that all testing and reporting processes meet the company’s quality, accuracy, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Laboratory Testing & Analysis
Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
Perform titrations, spectroscopic analysis, chromatography, and other laboratory techniques as required.
Ensure that all laboratory tests are performed in compliance with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Record, interpret, and analyze test data with accuracy and reliability.
2. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure that testing is carried out as per ISO, NABL, and industry standards.
Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and maintain compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Participate in internal and external quality audits.
Ensure all laboratory safety procedures are strictly followed, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
3. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate lab notebooks, data sheets, and test reports.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly test summaries for management review.
Support preparation of certificates of analysis (COA) for customer dispatches.
Report deviations, non-conformities, or irregularities observed during testing.
4. Equipment Handling & Maintenance
Operate laboratory instruments such as pH meters, spectrophotometers, viscometers, balances, etc.
Perform routine calibration and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Report breakdowns or instrument errors to seniors immediately and ensure corrective action is taken.
Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and glassware.
5. Support for R&D and Production
Assist the R&D team in trial experiments, formulation testing, and product development.
Work closely with the production team to provide real-time testing support for ongoing processes.
Provide recommendations for process improvement based on test results.
Participate in new product validation and performance testing.
6. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Follow all safety guidelines for handling hazardous chemicals and laboratory equipment.
Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times during lab operations.
Conduct chemical waste disposal as per environmental regulations.
Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of chemical testing methods, analytical techniques, and laboratory practices.
Analytical Ability: Ability to analyze data, detect trends, and provide accurate interpretations.
Attention to Detail: Precision in measurement, observation, and documentation.
Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication in English/Hindi to report results and findings.
Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and laboratory software (LIMS preferred).
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with R&D, production, and quality teams.
Time Management: Capability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry / Applied Sciences
OR Master of Science (M.Sc) in Chemistry (preferred for higher technical roles)
Experience:
Fresher graduates with strong academic knowledge in Chemistry are welcome.
1–5 years of experience in laboratory testing, R&D, or quality control in chemical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industries will be an added advantage.
