Chartered Accountant – Financial Logistics Lead

Reports To: Head of Finance / Managing Director

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with exceptional accuracy.

• Conduct account reconciliations and ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP.

• Oversee daily accounting tasks alongside the Senior Accounting Officer, ensuring precision in customer payments, layaway plans, and revenue recognition.

In-Depth Cost Analysis & Insights

• Perform detailed cost and margin analysis to optimise profitability and reduce logistics expenses.

• Track and analyse customer acquisition costs, shipping expenses, and supply chain efficiency.

• Partner with operations and marketing to provide actionable recommendations that directly drive revenue.

Business Intelligence & Data Analytics

• Build and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for financial, operational, and logistics metrics.

• Use basic SQL to query and extract data for trend analysis, forecasting, and risk identification.

• Provide hands-on data analysis to support strategic decision-making in a competitive global market.

Logistics & Dispatch Integration

• Collaborate with logistics and dispatch teams to analyse shipping costs, delivery timelines, and supplier performance.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities in fulfilment and streamline operational processes.

• Integrate financial and logistics data systems for greater reporting accuracy and visibility.

Hands-On Leadership & Communication

• Lead and mentor 1 Senior Accounting Officer, fostering accuracy, efficiency, and growth.

• Work closely with sales, operations, logistics, and customer service teams to resolve financial queries and align on business goals.

• Present clear, data-driven monthly performance insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Skills & Competencies

• Professional Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) with 5+ years post-qualification experience, preferably in ecommerce, retail, or fintech with international exposure.

• Technical Expertise:

• Advanced financial accounting, reporting, and compliance in multi-country operations.

• Strong cost/margin analysis and understanding of logistics & dispatch processes.

• Hands-on Power BI dashboard creation and basic SQL querying skills.

• Analytical Acumen: Exceptional ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights.

• Communication Skills: Fluent English; able to present complex concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.

• Leadership: Proven ability to lead by doing in a lean, fast-paced environment.

• Mindset: Proactive, detail-oriented, commercially savvy.
